The spot was shady and always love that the tables are covered. Had a good relaxing time. Quiet park.

We love Jim Hogg but don’t understand why some people can now have golf carts but others can’t. Sign says no golf carts but they are not enforcing it 100%. Also went to get out away from fireworks on the 4th but they allowed them in the park this year.

The park was great.

The huge family(s) that came in to the shelter across from us on Saturday, and played loud music past 1am, was not.

We had a whole lot of fun at Jim Hogg with a few drawbacks we didn't think of beforehand. We camped in a tent and brought bikes and swim suits, but we didn't end up swimming because we didn't realize there wasn't a beach on this park. Mostly, people hike or fish here I think. A lot of other children brought scooters and bikes and played in the streets most of the time we were there. There are bathrooms with showers. Lots of families come here. There were some people partying, but I brought ear plugs. Our favorite part was the fire ring that had a grill you can flip over it to cook. It was really fun sitting out around the fire all all morning and evening and hiking and biking inbetween. As far as cons: there was a lot of traffic going in and out of the park because there are fishing piers and a boat ramp down the main road from the campsite (I was as site 81, which is why traffic was so noisy), and there isn't a beach to sit on by the lake since that part is just for boating and fishing, and the sites are pretty close together, so it's a little loud when everyone is up and playing and running around and laughing etc. Anyways, overall it's a great place for families if you're looking to let the kids run around.
