Campground Review Site #37 (Early June Stay)The drive to the campground was absolutely beautiful and surprisingly accessibleany vehicle can make the trip without the need for four-wheel drive, which was a relief. The campground itself is very well-maintained, and the campsites are clean and thoughtfully arranged. I stayed at site #37, which I found to be ideal in terms of layout and location.One of the standout features of this site was the generous spacing between campsites. We enjoyed a sense of privacy, with a large open field behind us and minimal road noise at night, creating a peaceful and quiet environment.The camp hosts were friendly, professional, and attentive to the sites upkeep and security. Bob, in particular, was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.Cleanliness was top-notchI would rate it a 5/5. The restrooms were equipped with flush toilets and sinks, and new hot water heaters had just been installed for the showers. Our site was conveniently located near the restrooms and water access. It was level, offered a comfortable amount of shade, and was easy to set up camp on.In terms of pests, Id give it a 2/5 bug rating. There were a few mosquitoes, but they werent much of a bother. We did have a couple of aggressive scrub jays in the area, likely due to a nearby nest, which might not be a common issue for all campers.Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this campground to others looking for a clean, quiet, and well-managed place to enjoy the outdoors.

Its our 2nd time to stay at Barton Flats campground and the experience is still awesome. The camphost is very accommodating and friendly. Than campground is pretty quiet, restrooms are clean, has good phone service and most of the campsites are shaded. We stayed at campsite #7 which is a double site and so we had plenty of spaces in between tents. I highly recommend Barton Flats and well surely be back next year.

Its a very nice and clean campground. There are showers and flush toilets that are in working order. Jenks Lake is a short distance from the campground and there is a hiking trail that you can take from the campground to the lake. There are a couple of other trails to hike from the campground, as well. The campsites all have a fire ring and picnic table. You can gather your own wood for a campfire.

Barton Flats Campground: Clean, groomed campsites. Roughly a 20 minute hike to Jenks lake (check the fish planting schedule). A 35 minute drive to Big Bear. No RV hookups, but two onsite dump stations near the campground entrance are available for I think $10. Clean showers and clean flushing restrooms. Metal bear boxes are in the campsites. There's a good cafe in Angelus Oaks called 'The Oaks Restaurant' and general store a short drive down the hill.

Campground is very well maintained and camp hosts were very friendly! Our double campsite had plenty of level areas for us to pitch our tents. There's a decent amount of road noise through the night and some fire ants but neither bothered us.

We loved this campsite. It's very well located, close to the bathrooms and showers. It has plenty of well-defined space, ideal if you're bringing children with you.

We just spent 3 glorious nights at Barton Flats CG. We really liked our site - paved and level with nice views of snow-capped San Gorgonio. The CG was quiet (mid-week) and I think may have just opened for the season. We took the hike up to Jenks Lake, a nice 3.5 mile RT trek. The camp host was very friendly and the restrooms were clean. The cost was very reasonable with our lifetime senior pass. We live locally in Orange County so we will be back. We camped in a 22-foot Flagstaff travel trailer

Nice clean campground. Host was friendly and did a great job enforcing quiet time. This was our third time camping here and it was good every time. Conveniently close to Jenks lake.

Camp host was nice, and welcomed us when we arrived and pointed us towards our site. I never used the restroom/shower facilities since we stay in a camper and have all of that already. Cell service was good with spectrum mobile, I was able to stream a movie for the kids at bedtime. Hiked to Jenks lake with my kids, very cool. Lots of room on the site for the kids to run around and play. They also have dump facilities for $10 bucks on the way out.

Through no fault of the campground or the host our trip coincided with Edison doing some major repairs right across 38 for two days. Jackhammers started at 630 am then the helicopters started at 830. The noise was what you would expect. But other than that the grounds are clean as always. The hosts top drawer. Well be back and check if theres any work scheduled in the area lol

Nice and quiet!! Showers, with hot water and a water fountain for drinking water only help alot. Firewood available as well. Stayed two nights no issues We stay at site 26, not as much shade at times but made it work.

I took my 4 year old camping and we had a great. Showers stopped working after the 1st day but the camp host was friendly and provided updates. We hiked the Jenks Lake trail and part of the Santa Ana River Trail. Everything was clean and well kept. I plan on coming back again in tht future.

Enjoyed spending Fourth of July in the mountains. It was an enjoyable time with the family. I would have loved to spend the night however I had to work the next day. Bathrooms and campsites were clean and well taken care of. I highly recommend it.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
