It had been years since we stayed in Barton Flats campground. I don't know if my memory was faulty or if the campground had undergone upgrades but we were very pleasantly surprised by how wonderful this campground is. The restrooms were well kept. The showers looked clean as well but we didn't use them. We went up as a group, reserving sites 30, 32, and 33. I would recommend any of these sites. The campground hosts were very attentive and friendly. This is a definite jewel in our local mountains. And to the other campers there the week of our trip, thank you for the peaceful and quiet evenings.

Barton Flats Campground has nice campsites that are easily accessed, quality and sturdy tables, nice raised firepits. There were two restrooms near our site and only one had a working faucet. Recommend better washing facilities in restrooms, especially during pandemic. thank you to the camp hosts for enforcing the rules, and for their friendly conversations.

We were saddened to see that Jenks Lake water level is so low, and has been for quite some time. The parking lot, picnic areas, fishing pier, and walking path around the lake are nicely planned out and built well. It would be a perfect outdoor destination if it had water. We need more opportunities for outdoor activities in Southern California.
