Bandits Roost Campground in Wilkes County is located 54 min north of Hickory, NC with an elevation of 1,062 feet. There are a total of 103 campsites including 18 tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from mid April to mid October. 85 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 25 and 148 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. 85 sites have electric and water hookups. 1 site has electric hookups. Fees range from $20.00 to $85.00. Some amenities include shower, sewer hookup, wifi, boat ramp, swimming, restroom, trash dumpster, ramada, flush toilets. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Love the campsite which is the first time we were fortunate enough to get, facilities were clean and well maintained, the staff at the gate are very welcoming and always greet you with a smile. Wonderful experience as always!

Perfect, peaceful, tranquil surroundings for a weekend away from the city. Easy kayak launch right from the campsite. Fishing wasn't very great in July. Charcoal grill on site is especially convenient. Bathrooms are clean, stocked, and brutally hot. My third stay at this site, will certainly be many more.

Bandits roost is a nice, quiet, easy to maneuver around campground. I have stayed several times and never have had any problems either with the site itself or the facilities. It has a nice balance of wooded and open sites to choose from. Small beach area and nice boat launch ramp are easy to get to.

Bandits Roost is one of our favorite parks. The reservoir is great for kayaking and swimming, terrific views all around. Also a great location for day trips to Boone and Blowing Rock. The only ding on my rating is that the bathhouse could use an update.

As always it's a great place to spend a week. Just sit around and relax. We are a older couple so we don't go swimming so just hanging around camp site. We always try to come to bandits roost. We like it best of all the others.

Most sites are large and reasonably level. I prefer A Loop. The campground is older and the restrooms are clean but could befit from a remodel. The view of the lake we had was just outstanding. We have gone to this campground many times and have always been happy.

We love going to Bandits Roost each year. The only thing I would like updated would be the bathhouse. Other than that we love it!
