There are some great sites at this campground. We picked based on website pictures and did well. However many sites could be very difficult to back in to due to narrowness of site and slopes. Need more lighting at the bath house. There were only two showers, and no bench and no separation between the dry/wet areas of shower. As you entered the shower house, you could see into the shower. My wife was very uncomfortable. For that reason alone, we likely won't be back. If you have a dry bath in your camper and don't use the bath house, this is a beautiful campground. Wilkesboro was a great place to visit

We love it here. Everyone is so friendly. The views are beautiful. We enjoyed our time together cooking, reading, walking around and exploring. We plan to be back again.

Very nice campground! Beautiful sites and friendly folks! Bathhouse was manageable, but shower stall could have used some cleaning. . Just remember to carry water shoes or flip flops

We really enjoyed the campground!!! The playground was great for my small children we loved getting in the lake and had so much fun!!! The only complaint was that the bathroom@ and showers could have been in better and a cleaner condition. And a suggestion I have for the campground is to maybe have vending machines or even just a drink machine. It's a very nice campground and we will definitely come back!!!!

A true gem of a campground. Run by the Army Corp of Engineers, your Golden Pass gets you half off. Many views of the reservoir, especially from the peninsula. Clean bath and shower. Beautiful sunsets. Swimming beach. Park your kayak next to the water without fear. Love this place!

First time camping here, we were unable to reserve the "best" sites, but settled on site #30 which turned out to be a very good site, too! Close to the swim beach and not far from the restroom either. Since we camped in April the swim beach was not opened yet, but there were a few brave kids swimming in very cool water. We enjoyed walking all the loops, too. This may become my favorite campground as it is only about 1½ hours from home.

My wife and I tent camp. We love the out-of-doors experience the tent and outside cooking give us. So many campgrounds have little room between campsites so you can easily find your guy lines criss-crossing someone else's or be imprisoned in a group of mansions-on-wheels. Our campsite at Bandit's Roost afforded plenty of room between campsites and was well suited for our tent, dining fly, and utility trailer - able to breathe without someone else hearing you. The bath houses at Bandit's Roost were the cleanest we've encountered. The one staff person with whom we interacted was Lynn and he was terrific - always helpful and courteous. While there, we experienced Tropical Storm Zeta!! We were thankful to have had that experience at Bandit's Roost rather than other campgrounds we've used. It was an adventure indeed, and other campers were concerned that we were riding that storm out in a tent, but all went well and we were constantly treated to the beautiful scenery of Kerr Scott Reservoir.
