I really enjoyed staying at the Badin Lake Lower Loop Campground. I had access to bear-proof trashcans, bathrooms, and showers with warm water, which made cleaning off and refueling after a long day of dirt bike riding nice and easy. If you can get down by the water, its a beautiful lake.

Normally when I stay at my favorite site in the lower loop of Badin Lake Campground it is fairly quiet. This past weekend when I stayed the site next to me ( a single site ) had five vehicles, three large dogs ( none on a leash ), four tents ( one on a tent pad ), and eight people. They were loud and actually even set up a big screen on the side of a large sun shelter they had put up ( along with the four tents ). They watched a very loud movie on that screen until about midnight. I never saw a campground host, I tried to call a number I had for a Ranger but evidently it is only a daytime number. Luckily it stormed bad and they packed up the next day. This campground is in terrible need of a campground host and a number should be posted somewhere in very large numbers for a Ranger. This is a very nice facility in a very nice location. It just needs to be managed properly. I camp at this campground several times a year and see it slowly declining. Hopefully in the near future whoever is in charge of the park will actually do their job. We will see.

Campsite was clean. Washroom and showers were kept clean enough and everything worked. We had a pleasant stay.

Nice trails. Beautiful lake. It would be good to have a general trail to the lake so you dont have to carry your kayak or SUP through an occupied campsite. Also, the womens shower is in terrible shape. The tile is falling off the wall and there is no shower curtain so the water floods the whole room and your dry clothes get sprayed.

The road into the campground was gravel and miles long, but fairly smooth, not overly rutty. Partially shady site was beautiful right on the lake, a half minute walk to the water. Waters edge is eroded, so about 4 feet down, cant wade in. Sites had some privacy with foliage/trees between. Bathroom, clean, just up the hill next to the campground host, whose site is directly across from this site. Two hooks for hanging lanterns, table, fire pit with grate. Site had shade, and sun directly in the tent/table area. . For all shade, choose the site to the left (if facing the lake).

The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The lake was a nice view in the mornings and the ability to go trail riding and just go back to camp with out having to air back up was awesome.

Wonderful campsite and great sized loop. Facilities were clean. The loop around Badin lake is beautiful, a moderate hike that had great views. Will be back!

Pros:Nice grounds.Conveniently located between the bathrooms/showers and drinking water station.Bathrooms were decent. Toilet paper and hand soap was always filled.Heated shower rooms.Gathering firewood is allowed.Dogs are allowed off leash if they listen to verbal commands.Cons:Showers were dirty.There may be a shooting range near by. Thats all you could hear for the full day Saturday.

Beautiful area, great spacing between each plot, and the water front was just a little walk. The restroom and showers were close by and spotless. I couldnt have asked for anything more.

Avoid this campground, bathhouse was in horrible condition. Mens bathroom did not work, so the door is just locked. Womens bathroom was filthy and door did not lock, any everyone was using it because it was the only one available. The showers were filthy, no hot water, wall tiles broken or not there.

I rented campsite 005 in the lower loop. I didnt see any mention of this in the site description, but you cant get your vehicle completely down to the campsite like most sites there. The picture is incorrect too, its showing a different site. From where you park your vehicle, you have to walk a path 100-150 feet over uneven, rocky ground to get to the actual campsite. Not a huge problem, but I would have picked a different site had I known this. It would have been a lot easier to unload and load my vehicle if I hadnt had to make so many trips back-and-forth. Great view of the lake though and the bathroom/shower house and trash can were right across the road from the site.

Badin Lake is a great place for fishing, hiking, canoeing, camping, and taking a relaxing weekend trip with the family. The bathrooms are pretty clean but there are not enough shelves to place your clothes in the shower stall so make sure to bring waterproof bags. This is a great place to visit when you have free time and I would come back for an 8th time but watch out for racoons and stray cats!

Great space to enjoy nature and water activities. The scenery is gorgeous and the ambiance is cozy. The fall leaves were especially beautiful. Campsites are clean, bathrooms are accessible, and water is also pretty easy to access.

The Badin Lake campgrounds are very well maintained. The bathrooms were very clean. Going in the fall after school starts again is great and it was relatively quiet. There is lots to do in the area. The only reason it got 4 stars was that I could not find any camp wood anywhere. Usually there are people selling it or the park has stacked up dead wood they have collected around the grounds. Only other issue is there are very few sites that actually have a view of the water. Book EARLY or you will never get one of them.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
