Our site itself was great and it was nice camping right by the lake. Campground was quiet at night outside of a few noisy boaters and fireworks on the lake the first night. Bathrooms definitely could have been better. The mens restroom was not cleaned at all during our two-night stay and the toilet was covered in dead bugs. Overall was still a great place to stay and was convenient being so close to the hiking trail and the day access area.

Always enjoy staying here hardly hear anyone after 9/10 pm. I suggest to book early on the lower loop and pick a campsite closer to the water. We stayed at site 18 this time which is quite and a little more secluded but farther from the water. Clean restrooms and shower.

We had camping spot 6 which is a double. Plenty of room for us. Womens bathroom didnt have soap the first day but I think they clean the bathrooms and empty trash daily. It rained all day one of our days but trees were close enough and we were able to put a huge tarp over campsite so we werent stuck in the tents all day. Boat landing isnt far.

Excellent camp site! We had a magical time of spending the night under the stars ~ a beautiful setting. The fishing was great too.

Didn't stay ... No alcohol policy chased us away. Can't believe you can't even drink a cold beer on your site? Sad.

Very disappointing experience - Double booked and no support"Our experience was very poor. We made a reservation two weeks in advance for March 14th, but when we arrived, other people were already in our assigned spot (013). We politely informed them, but they claimed they had also booked it.The worst part is that there is no office or staff on-site. I tried calling multiple times, but nobody ever answered. We had to drive back home feeling very sad and disappointed. Extremely poor management."thanks

Badin Lake features secluded campsites but the experience is marred by truly decrepit bathrooms and showers. They are well past due for a reno.

Campsite 29 upper loop was decent size to allow for our large tent and gazebo and parking for pickup truck and boat trailer. Fire pit needs to be cleaned & replaced. Five mile lake trail loop easily accessible from site was convenient. Bathroom and showers kept clean and well lit. Gravel roads into campground will get you very dusty. Boat launch steep but very usable. Non floating boat dock at ramp was a bit of a challenge with lake about 3 under pool. Friendly host.

Sites are so close together there is no privacy. There are various hiking trails that run right next to campsites, or between the lake and the camp sites. So instead of a nice view, you get to see dogs pooping, and hear rustling and noises going by your tent when you're trying to go to sleep. The onsite camp maintenance person was a Karen. He told me I had to turn by bluetooth speaker down, when it was barely up, and even if I had it up all the way it's literally only 3" in size and barely plays loud enough to even hear over someone talking. Plus the sign says quiet time is from 10pm and he was giving me grief at only 6pm... there were other people making way more noise, barking dogs, playing children, someone chopping wood... but my music was unacceptable... The tent pitch area is a square of garden timbers filled in with crush and run. I could feel the rocks all night long when I was trying to sleep, and I was worried they were going to put a hole in the bottom of my tent. The ground was so hard I ruined 4 tent stakes trying to hammer them into the ground. The view of the lake was kind of pretty, but everything else was terrible.

I love dispersed camping, but these campgrounds were awesome. Warm shower and bathroom facilities, onsite trash and just a quick transit to get on the trails cant be beat. Mostly quiet with the exception of the loud group on the other side partying, but an adjacent camper yelled at them to be quiet and that ended that party.

Badin Lake Campground is a beautiful location alongside the banks of the lake. Its remote and a bit on the primitive side, which I appreciate. However, the toilet rooms and shower rooms leave much to be desired in the way of their upkeep and cleanliness. With a little effort and daily attention to Cleaning Im sure these Campground facilities could be more acceptable.

The upkeep of the campground has become nonexistent. The tent pads are full of ruts, the fire rings are rusted out so bad they have become a fire hazard because they are not getting cleaned out. During the past 12 years our group has been camping at Badin lake campground a minimum of 1 time a year most years we have camped 2 times a year and the upkeep of the campground has become nonexistent.

Good campground with most sites being fairly level. The bathhouse could use some work, given that we camped during the federal shutdown, so employees were scarce.

FYI firewood must be purchased before coming into park. This information wasn't immediately obvious and camp host may not there to advise.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.
