Always enjoy staying here hardly hear anyone after 9/10 pm. I suggest to book early on the lower loop and pick a campsite closer to the water. We stayed at site 18 this time which is quite and a little more secluded but farther from the water. Clean restrooms and shower.

The campground and facilities were nice and the people surrounding me were nice. The lake provided a great view.

Badin Lake is a great place for fishing, hiking, canoeing, camping, and taking a relaxing weekend trip with the family. The bathrooms are pretty clean but there are not enough shelves to place your clothes in the shower stall so make sure to bring waterproof bags. This is a great place to visit when you have free time and I would come back for an 8th time but watch out for racoons and stray cats!

Site 18 is a short walk to the 5-mile Badin Lake trail and entry to the lake on your kayak or tube. The fire pit is very large and has a grate one could use to grill on. There is a separate grill one could use with charcoal briquettes. The tent space is very large, ample parking for multiple cars. The cardinals love the site - I had many visiting throughout my stay. I bought wood down the road at a gas station. Overall, an excellent place to camp!

Great campground! The lake being so nearby was wonderful, and the host came around to introduce himself. Trails were excellently maintained.

Great camp site! Our site (#18) has direct lake access but it wasn’t flat like a beach to get into and it off the water. Some sites had that. Obviously not something the campgrounds can influence. Nice people. No one was loud late at night. Restrooms were fine, not the cleanest but still just fine for camping. We’ll definitely need back and try to book a spot with better water access and hopefully we won’t get a surprise rain shower!

We arrived on Thursday afternoon, and loved it immediately. It was so peaceful and beautiful. All the facilities were well maintained. The bathrooms were clean, as were the showers (mostly clean). Our site (#18) was nice. It was big enough for 2 tents and all of our gear. It also had a direct access to the lake. However, it was on a cove, so fishing wasn't the easiest, but not terrible. The road is gravel, so when traffic picked up on Friday, we literally ate and breathed dust and dirt for hours. There's also no enforcement of or adherence to quiet hours. The place was a madhouse Friday night, including bass-thumping music coming from a car 2 sites over, where its owner was just setting up camp at 11pm. Additionally, there were screaming kids and barking dogs that carried on all night. There is no gate to this campground, so people are free to come and go at any hour - and they DO. We will be sticking to weeknights in the future. The weekends are way too out of control.

The campsite was beautiful and clean. Make sure to take hand soap since there was none in the bathroom. I highly recommend going there to camp.

Had a wonderful time, can't complain about the site or the facilities offered (Shower, bathroom, that kind of thing.) However, we had a very hard time contacting the campground at all. We had to make a detour on the way and tried to contact the campsite to let them know we may not make it in time for the 4 o clock check-in. Called multiple times at the number provided and was never able to get anyone on the line. Luckily we arrived and our reserved site was still open, but it left us pretty worried on the remainder of the drive. So fair warning if visiting in busier times, as I can easily see someone unable to contact the host and their site being given to a First-Come-first-serve since some of the sites are marked as that.I'm assuming the white trucks that would drive through the camp every once in a while were staff, but we didn't get a chance to stop them to ask. While it is nice to be checked on, it would be more assuring to know exactly who it is that's checking the sites. TLDR:Pros - -A beautiful site-Good clean amenities-Nice trails, both on-site and with the neighbouring campgrounds (they all connect at some point)-Fishing is good, but be prepared to lose a line or two if bank fishingCons-Unable to contact siteStaff did not make themselves known if they passed throughThankfully the cons are few, and my friends and I had a great time. Hoping to visit again next year!
