The shower was sufficiently hot. I was able to sleep in my car, which gives my 68 year old back more support and comfort than sleeping on a pad and sleeping bag over gravel. Fellow campers were quiet. Trails were marked adequately.

Beautiful park with great sites.

Were only here 1 night. Quiet campground at night. Fire ring & picnic table were nice. Firewood was expensive for what you get-may want to purchase it from a private vendor before arriving at the campground. Shower was normal for a campground.

Nice restrooms, level campsites, plenty to do in the area

Platte River Campground is my favorite place to spend time. The staff is friendly and the sites are clean and spacious.You don't feel like you're packed in like sardines. The bathrooms and shower are cleaned daily and always well stocked.

Large campsite, full shade. Youll have people walking past on the trail right behind the campsite in order to get to beach, but it was never a problem. The mile walk to the beach is peaceful and easy. This site is close to the bathroom and dumpster. Extremely clean facilities! Friendly staff.

Clean and well-maintained. Nice hike to the beach. Many campsites too close together. Night-time quiet hours not enforced. Terrible cell service (T-Mobile) Would go back if able to secure one of the more secluded campsites.

First time visitor to this campground and it was awesome. Stayed in loops 1 & 4. Loop 1 had a great site, clean restrooms, and the amphitheater was a great place to walk my dog. Loop 4 just exceeded all expectations. Site was amazing and the sites arent too close together. Restrooms and showers clean and close and overall Platte River campground was a great place to stay.

Our national parks are a treasure. The staff at Platte River are doing an excellent job caring for the campground and providing interesting educational presentations for the campers.

There was a ranger program with a Native American named Eric. He was wonderful. If at all possible, please explicitly list the existence of that type of program availability on Recreation.gov. One can stay at a hotel or private sector campground; however they do not have NPS ranger programs.

@JohnS6889697 · Camped on Jul 18, 2025 at Campsite #418
Clean. Large campsites with room for 4 small 3 person tents or one large tent and a canopy. Campground is 12 minutes away from grocery and a little farther for restaurants. Reasonably close to Empire

Campground was really nice, sites are pretty spaced out and wooded. Shower house and bathroom were also nice and conveniently located within each camp loop. The trail to the beach was near our site and was a really pretty hike.

Campground is excellent and clean. Several good hiking trails close by. Fun shopping at Glen Arbor and Frankfort. Beautiful sunset at Point Betsie.

Campground was great! About 200 steps from site to the bathroom/shower. From the site there was a 1 mile sand path to Lake Michigan directly. Small portion of beach is open but also roped off bc of bird nesting.
@MaryLouB041653 · Camped on Jul 15, 2025 at Campsite #315
Ranger nature programs are excellent! It was a very educational camping trip, well done!
@SarahW4027937 · Camped on Jul 14, 2025 at Campsite #113
Incredible campground! Spacious sites, delightfully wooded. Clean bathroom and showers. Nice trails to the beach. Though it is about a mile hike in. Beaches are always more magical when you hike to them!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
