I unintentionally booked a campsite that was next to a large pool of standing water. The mosquitos were absolutely unbearable. Within 10 seconds of approaching the campground, we were swarmed by HUNDREDS of mosquitos. The mosquitos were bad enough in general and obviously out of the control of the campsite, but the standing water amplified this issue profusely to the point where we could not spend any time near our tent which we miraculously got set up (after putting on as many layers as possible to protect us). I dont typically write reviews, I was incredibly disappointed that the campground would even consider having this campsite as a viable option for people to stay at. We got no refund, the rangers didnt offer any other option for us... truly, Im not a picky or particular person, but this campsite was uninhabitable and shouldnt have been listed as an option. It should be labeled as next to still water and offered at a discounted rate or just not used.

We had a great time staying at the campground. It is very well maintained. The sites all have a paved area for parking. From there, you walk about 20 yards into the woods to your camping pad. There is a large square area that has been leveled flat. It has your picnic table and campfire. This is also where you pitch your tent. Rangers check the sites and clean up after each departure. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The showers always had hot water. There is a sink for washing dishes. The whole campground is very clean. There is a place on site to purchase firewood. Quiet hours are 8am-10pm and we found that everyone was sleeping and quiet around 9-10pm. Great place to go with kids. A short hike takes you to Lake Michigan. So many fun things to do in the area. Just outside the main entrance is the launch for Platte River and a place to rent kayaks/canoes/tubes. I highly recommend this campground and we plan to return next summer.

Camp ground was great. Awesome trails. HOWEVER, camp host was incredibly rude at checkout. Not only did he tell me to leave at 3 minutes before noon checkout he couldnt just walk away he returned within in 2 minutes with sarcastic comments. And came back within 15 minutes to see if I was packed up. This was late October when there were only a handful of campers present. Cant imagine what he does during the busy season. In spite of this person I will return.

Great campground. Very clean, heated bathrooms and showers (hot water!). Lots of space between sites. Loved the walk to Lake Michigan. Easy drive to Glen Haven and the hiking trails. Incredibly beautiful star display at night - made going to the restroom a treat! Helpful ranger at the park entrance (across from dump station). Firewood for sale. Driveways are sloped so bring your blocks and levelers. Enjoy!

This was my first National park camping experience. I was impressed with the condition of the bathrooms and showers. Park staff were very friendly and helpful. Sleeping Bear dunes was a great place to hike and very different than most of my other hiking experiences. I would recommend this area to my family and friends.

Thank you for allowing my camper to stay on site while I was taken to ER for emergency surgery and recovery days that gave my friends and family time to help me move my rig. This was something I never thought took place in this day and age. Theres still Pleanty of kindness and help when its truly needed. Even from a national park system. Thank you again from very happy camper

This campground was lovely. Sites were well spaced and services readily available. The rangers were extremely helpful, the trails well maintained and in general, one of the best campgrounds we've attended (and there's been many) during this month and a half trip.Our one and only complaint was the lack of internet (which is so very necessary when traveling long term). We understand this was due to the national economic shutdown.

This is a beautiful campground! Can't wait to go again! Power was out a few times due to high winds but was resolved in a reasonable time frame.

It was an excellent campground. The sites were spacious, and the distance between them was wide enough, which made it really nice. However, at my site, the trailer entrance and the picnic table were positioned on opposite sides, which was a bit disappointing. Also, since the table was fixed to the ground, we couldnt move it to our preferred spot, which was another minor inconvenience.Aside from that, the surroundings and the well-maintained campsite were all very satisfying.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
