This is a super large campground laid out incredibly well. The sites are not on top of one another. All of the sites we saw had smooth paved surfaces. The tent pad and the picnic table are nicely separated. There is a 1 mile path that goes down to the gorgeous beach. We saw 4 people using the beach or the path while we were there in June.The showers and bathrooms are fine. There is a dishwashing station, sinks, flush toilets and a dump station. We preferred the location of D.H. Day campground. However this campground isn't that far of a drive to the primary sites in the sleeping bear national lakeshore.

The paved parking and uniquely deep sites were still well groomed and close to restroom & showers. We had quiet and fun neighbors, but only spent one night. Quick access to the lake too!

We have been coming here for decades. This time was with our grandson. I love the walk-in sites and the bathroom and showers are still great.

This campground was very clean, easy to get to and the park staff were very friendly!

Although the Platte River Campground was a bit removed from the rest of the National Lakeshore area, it was clean, well forested and there were trails that could be accessed from the campground (we didn't have to get in the car to get to a trailhead). Our campsite was paved and pretty close to being level so we didn't have to do much adjusting when we set up. I'd stay there again.

One of the best National Park campgrounds Ive stayed in. Very well maintained with large private camp sites and hot showers. A wonderful place.

Great experience with hiking and camping.

The campground was beautiful, very spacious and clean. However we were in site 411 which is a handicap site. Because we had a lot of concrete on our site and the restrooms were right behind us, everyone seemed to think it was ok to walk thru our site to get to them. And I-mean right past our rv window. I tried setting out chairs and putting things out but they just went around them. One lady even started looking in our fire pit for what I dont know. So if you stay here dont choose site 411. After two days we moved sites. Other than that it was great

Quiet campground with plenty of trails to hike, places to go, and things to see.

This is a beautiful quiet campground with plenty of room between sites. There are great trails and it is close to the river, the Lake and the dunes.

Beautiful area and this year we came early in the summer before the crowds. Campsites are wooded, and while not fully private you do have a woodsy feel and a bit of visual barrier between you and the next site.
@SharonG7476078 · Camped on Jun 8, 2025 at Campsite #124
We love this campground! Sites are distanced enough that you still have privacy. Its clean, and rangers are very friendly. Also you cant find better/cleaner bathrooms at any other campground.

Favorite campground- always clean, quiet with well laid out camping spaces.

Great place to camp, very clean and quiet. We did have an issue with a barking dog and after talking to the owner which didn't do much good I stopped at the Ranger Station and asked them if there was something they could do and the Ranger said she would contact the owner. After that we had no more issues with the dog. Thanks!!

Large camping spots! Even though the park was almost full, it did not feel like it. Clean and just beautiful.

Very well run campground

Very clean and quiet campground. Sites are secluded and good size. Very close to a great spot to launch kayaks and Lake Michigan is a bike ride or hike away. Good hiking trails, as well. We really enjoyed our stay, we were surprised that the non electric loop has actual restrooms and showers and the campground is close to a lot of outdoor adventures.

Our favorite camp ground. So clean. The facilities were immaculate for a camp ground.
@Priscilla147AA · Camped on Jun 6, 2025 at Campsite #438
This campground is outstanding. Campground is run extremely well, it is clean and well kept. Even though there were a lot of children, they were well mannered and it was quiet at night. No noise at night. Lots of trails around the campground and if you run out of trails to hike at the campground, the Sleeping Bear Dunes is near and you can hike for days.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
