The campground is incredibly nice and well kept with lovely hiking trails and is strategically close to Lake Michigan. The ticks were sadly plentiful.

I love camping at the Platte River Campground. My granddaughter loves the river and learned to float there this year. I try every year. Ive been able to get a site every year for the last 25. Its not always easy to get a site but with any luck, Ill be back next year with my grandkids .

Platte River Campground is our favorite visit of the year. The campground and restroom facilities are always clean and well taken care of.

The paved parking and uniquely deep sites were still well groomed and close to restroom & showers. We had quiet and fun neighbors, but only spent one night. Quick access to the lake too!

The campground was beautiful, very spacious and clean. However we were in site 411 which is a handicap site. Because we had a lot of concrete on our site and the restrooms were right behind us, everyone seemed to think it was ok to walk thru our site to get to them. And I-mean right past our rv window. I tried setting out chairs and putting things out but they just went around them. One lady even started looking in our fire pit for what I dont know. So if you stay here dont choose site 411. After two days we moved sites. Other than that it was great

Love this area. So many beautiful trails and interesting towns and places. The campground is probably the nicest layout ever. Huge very private sites, level parking and nice tent pads. The bathrooms have excellent layouts and are kept beautifully clean. We come in fall, when things are quiet and hike and enjoy the whole area. Thank you for this park.

Camping at federal parks is always a pleasant experience.

The campground was clean and the sites were spaced out with lots of trees. There are plenty of sites to see and hikes in the area. We will go back although it is challenging to get a reservation because it is so popular.

This was our group's twelfth year at the Platte River campground and as always, it was an amazing time. So nice to get into nature with fresh air, beautiful vistas and fun activities. It felt like exhaling finally during this stressful year. The park is so well kept and we were well informed about any issues, such as bear activity or excessive mosquitoes due to standing water. Plan your trip here well in advance as it fills up quickly. This place truly is a gem and has provided us with a lifetime of stories and memories.

Make sure to go to to the point where the Platte River flows into the lake.
