The Platte River Campground is most beautiful campground we have stayed in! Naturally beautiful, well-maintained, clean, wonderfully level sites, nice bathrooms/showers and trails. We will be back!

This park is kept clean, the campground bathrooms spotless as well. Wish ranger programs continued past Labor Day. E-bike renter on south edge of Empire was terrific! Kayak rental for Platte River with vendor just outside the campground was perfect. Firewood was not kept stocked by external vendor when we were there and is cheaper just outside the campground. Cant wait to return.

Nice stay. Sites were nestled in the woods, separate, private fire pit & picnic table down a short trail. Individual trails leading to a clean shower house. Only downside was o shelves to place soap/ shampoo in showers.

Site 320: very nice. Super close to very clean bathrooms. The only disappointment would be due to layout, we could not use our awning. Fire pit and table were on the back side of our RV. Otherwise, it was great.

Check out Glen Haven Historic Village with the blacksmith shop, maritime museum and the magical restoration of the Inn. Restoration is ongoing but will be a memorable place to stay once completed. Heritage Trail is a fantastic bike trail and a Platte River paddle is a must

Platte River is a beautiful campground. There are many things to do nearby : Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, Pierce Stocking Drive, Sleeping Bear dune climb, Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, lovely town of Leland, wineries, breweries, golf. The campground is peaceful, the sites are large and not in close proximity to your neighbor.

Beautiful, spacious and clean campground. The pads are asphalt and level! You can hike right from the campground. We will be back!

Not as busy as midsummer, Beautiful fall colors.NICE hiking trail to quiet beach.. unfortunately, biting flies at waters edge,typical for summer..Salmon were runnimg at fish weir,down the road.....Nice bike ride to beach area,as well as the trail.Nice clean baths and showers.
