It was an excellent campground. The sites were spacious, and the distance between them was wide enough, which made it really nice. However, at my site, the trailer entrance and the picnic table were positioned on opposite sides, which was a bit disappointing. Also, since the table was fixed to the ground, we couldnt move it to our preferred spot, which was another minor inconvenience.Aside from that, the surroundings and the well-maintained campsite were all very satisfying.

Well run camp with beautiful trails including Lake Michigan shoreline. Sites at very spacious and laid out to allow privacy and natural area. Glen arbor and Empire towns have knotty pine taverns with wonderful food. Be sure to go dune climbing - the views are incredible.

Wonderful stay. Park is clean and quiet. My only complaint is the reservation system. All sites are reserved as site specific. This required us to move 3 times for our 7 night stay. Park may want to consider another method to handle this problem. Possibly half of the electric sites could be site specific (pay more) and the remaining electric sites would be assigned upon checkin.

We will be back! Love this place. Nice spaced out camp sites. Clean restrooms and an empty beach. The area is the best in Michigan. Drift down the Platt River, hike everywhere, swim at Crystal Lake or the big Lake, drive up the the wineries to the north. The list goes on and on. But we really love the wooded shady campground. Oh, and dont miss the rail trail right from the campground to Lake Michigan beach.

Third year in a row we've gone to Platte River for our fall vacation, and we've been so fortunate with weather! Lots of walking the dogs and driving around looking at the beautiful countryside.

We love going to the Platte. The campground is always clean and neat . The bath houses are very clean. We also like the way the sites are separated and the paved pads. Great place to spend time. The only thing I dislike are your wantabe rangers. If they see an infraction, they need to speak to camper and explain what they see instead of noting something on paper and leaving a note. Politeness and friendliness would go a long way.Thank you

So clean and well maintained! Perfect location as it is convenient to great sights in Northwest Michigan.

We kayaked with the family. Saw bald eagle and lots of salmon. Also a visit to the dam south of crystal lake is fun. Watched the salmon fishermen.

We have loved this campground since the early days (when the roads were dirt and gravel) because of the easy access to various parts of the Sleeping Bear Dunes and its many activities: bird watching, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and just being in nature. Thanks for making this facility available.

Reservation is a must. Bikes are a good thing to bring along.
