Despite administration cutbacks to our beloved NPS, Sleeping Bear Dunes and specifically, Platte River Campground staff continue to find ways to make the experience wonderful. Clean and inviting, this is one of the finest camping experiences in our National Parks.

I wanted to rate it with one star, to keep people from going here. This is one of the best public or private camp grounds I have ever been to.

Beautiful park! Nice, private campsites with lots of trees. Looks well-planned. Bathrooms need a bit of an update, but not bad. I would definitely visit again. Love Sleeping Bear Dunes!

Had a wonderful stay. The park was beautiful and very clean. Showers were great! I love the campsites here because they are so big and wide and so many trees that you don't feel you are right on top of your neighbor. Will definitely be back. We've stayed here many times and always leave so happy. Must walk the trails up by Empire and Sleeping Bear Dunes. So pretty! I

Facilities were clean even with the campground at capacity. Sites are spaced fairly well.

The Platte River Campground is one of the most beautiful in Michigan. It is unique as it is more wooded than any State Park we've been. The sites and entire park are well maintained and just beautiful. We kayaked the Platte River also and it was excellent. This was the first time we kayaked during salmon fishing season, which was an interesting experience. We also hiked the Empire bluff which has spectacular views. We camped with family and friends and even with the rainy weather, we had a great time.

This campground met and exceeded our expectations! Sites were strategically laid out for privacy; bath house in awesome condition and clean! We loved the kitchen area for cleaning up. We felt the location was perfect for reaching our hiking, birding and fishing sites. Also enjoyed visiting Empire, the Visitor Center and Glen Haven. Trails were well marked and maps were plentiful. We never encountered much traffic, in fact we commented on how peacefully quiet the roadways were. We are already planning a longer visit for next year. Thank you for providing a perfect camping experience!
