So nice to be able to find camping in Yosemite close (30min) to the valley and hiking! We camped in a hike-in spot. The trails around the campground to the campsites and the bathrooms are not clearly marked with just dirt and pine needles everywhere. It was extremely difficult to find your way around the campground at night with a headlamp. Felt so bad for all of our neighbors when we accidentally walked through their campsites trying to find our own and the bathroom.

Clean dog-friendly sites. Super friendly rangers. Flush toilets and clean bathrooms. Would return, zero hesitation :)

Quietness but site leveling to be improved.

We enjoyed our stay but the campsite was very basic. There are 2 washrooms that have water for drinking in one space with a sink for waste water. It was a lot of work to tote water back and forth to the bathroom when there was no direct route from our campsite to the bathroom. To dump the water from our trailer would require a 1 hour drive to the Upper Pines campground in the Yosemite Valley. Most of the sites in Yosemite are closest to the Upper and Lower Pines campground. We couldn't get a campsite at either of these sites on the first day of the registration process.

Rangers were amazing. I really enjoyed my stay

Campground has lots of trees and shade. Can get dusty and no showers. I recommend bringing your own hand soap and thicker toilet paper for the flushing toilets. Clean water is available and individual bear lockers for each site! My family loved it!

Site 012 is on a steep downhill from the road. There is no bottom where it flattens out, so car camping is difficult. Also, the fire ring for the next spot is VERY close (so I was either bathed in a smoke plume or locked up in the car with windows up while the neighbors cooked dinner. Later, tent people further down the hill came thru multiple times next to the car with headlamps and woke me.

While it worked out for a last-minute option, the sites were way too close together ours was barely five feet from the next group. On top of that, our spot was right along the main path to the restrooms, so there was constant foot traffic through our area. It didnt feel private or peaceful at all.

Not too bad of a walk down. We did have a problem with heat there as it didnt seem to cool down as much as other parts of the park at night. But over all a great place.

On very much Campsites for RVs weve seen Tents. So, we think the bookingsystem doesnt filter this option. The Campsites are very oblique for the RV. But its near to the Yosemite Valley and the ambience in the middle of the forest is very beautyful.

This campground wasn't too bad for a primitive site. It's made more for tent campers but we made do for the one night. There were some nice areas to poke around in and my wife said the bathrooms were very clean.

Site 004 was decent for car camping. Pretty level, though quite exposed. Not far from restrooms. Easy to drive in and out.

Great campsite but could be more accurate with how level the tent pads are.

I'm a long time camper at Hodgedon Meadows campground. The campground is old and in major need of refurbisment. It should be closed for 1 or two seasons and upgraded. Improved signage, road improvent, walk in site parking improvent, campsite boundry improvent and esspecially the outdated restrooms need upgraded. Hodgedon needs an upgrade like what Crane Flat just had. Crane flat can become the yearround campground until Hodgedon is reopened.

Always a treat to get a glamping spot in Yosemite, especially when the weather is cooperating. Only negative was the treacherous slope in spot 104 at Hodgdon Meadows. Not suitable for a travel trailer.Otherwise commend the staff for running a smooth show despite staffing shortages.

The worst campsite ever!!! Sitting on a hill; very dangerous!
@MichaelD829846 · Camped on May 20, 2025 at Campsite #74
The ratio of campsites to bathrooms was abysmal. Each time I went, there was a line of at least ten people. I have never had that experience at any other campground. There was also a lack of signage that made navigating the campground difficult (specifically finding our campsite and finding the exit).

Stayed at site 75, 2 people. Site is sunny most of the day, 74 would have been better offering more shade but small site. Camp was quiet, no privacy between campsites but expected at Yosemite, level ground for tent. Overall, good campsite

We had site #8. Slight troubles w u even surfaces otherwise we liked it because after spending a few days in the valley Hodgdon was so peaceful
@SusanS9297654 · Camped on May 17, 2025 at Campsite #44
Potable water was only available at the restrooms and the faucets were directly above flushable sinks. So if you happen to drop your water bottle cap or jug valve it would go directly into the disgusting sink. Also, when I turned the faucet on it came out at an angle that sprayed onto me. Campsites were very close together which I was warned about. There was lots of firewood available from downed trees within a short walk. A saw would be helpful. Still, it was Yosemite, so it was awesome and worth it.

Rangers were polite and helpful upon arrival, campground and facilities were clean - we had a very pleasant stay!

When they say that all these sites require a degree of leveling, they are not kidding. Otherwise well spaced out and nice camp sites.
@NatashaFB3AAC8 · Camped on May 14, 2025 at Campsite #D
Spacious campsite, a good drive out of the way of the big attractions, but it's worth not being in the midst of crowds. The group campsites have plenty of bear boxes and there's running water in walking distance (recommend having refillable 1gal water jugs). Very grateful to the rangers for keeping things in decent condition. A note to future campers: this park is a treasure and I anticipate rangers will be increasingly spread thin, so please do everything you can to keep things clean for the next campers when you visit, deal with trash appropriately, respect the wildlife, stick to marked trails, etc!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
