Huge campsite. A bit crowded. Amazing views. A bit surprised there wasn't a water source on the campsite. Only at the bathroom.

Cramped & crowded, very loose dirt that coated everything. No grass or other vegetation in campground, though it was surrounding the area. We have been on a cross-country road trip to several national parks and this was the most cramped and dirtiest campground so far. Also, our neighbors left their bear lockers open (they had 2 campsites) and food out all over while they went out and only got a warning, which seems minimal.

Campsite was very clean and it was within close proximity to the valley. We had deer pass through two days in a row. The one downside is that a lot of the sites are not on level ground and it was challenging to find a spot for our tent.

Highly recommend this sight. Close enough to bathroom without having to hear flushing.

Crane flat is now one of my favorite campgrounds. Its so peaceful and quiet. Its very forested so theyre plenty of shade. You may also see deer walking around. The only downside to this campground are the sites can be a little on the smaller side and the driveways are mostly all on a slant if youre planning to sleep in your car. Other than that crane flat is a great site with proximity to tioga road and a general store/ gas station across the street.

Nice campground, clean restrooms, flushing toilets. Our site said only room for a small tent but we could fit two big tents. Some parking slabs were quite tilted. Only about 30 minutes from the valley.

Greeted at the gate, campgrounds were in great shape, bathrooms clean.

404 is very close to the restroom. Plenty of shade. Site is very level for a 10x10 tent. Unlike other sites, the table is not warped. For tent campers, this is an excellent site. Overall, this campground is very smokey. Everyone loves their campfire.

Site 112. Nice, shady spot. We had two 2-person backpack tents; if you had three tents or two larger ones you might need to move the table, or set up close to the bear locker for another level spot. As it was, I pitched mine closer to the neighboring site.

We spent three memorable nights at the campsite, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The location is incredibly convenient, as its just a 20-minute drive to the breathtaking heart of Yosemite National Park. The ranger on site was exceptionally knowledgeable and offered fantastic recommendations for hiking trails and scenic viewpoints, which greatly enhanced our visit. While the campsites are fairly close to one another, I was pleasantly surprised by how respectful everyone was regarding quiet hours, allowing for a peaceful atmosphere each night. The sense of community among campers added to the experience, and we all enjoyed sharing stories around the fire. I am already looking forward to returning next year for another adventure in this beautiful setting.

Quiet, clean campground. Rangers are SO positive and helpful. Nice restrooms, lots of trees, complimentary deer. We were thrilled to get a spot in the park. Thank you Lord.

Gorgeous sites, courteous other visitors, and a wonderful jumping-off point to either the Valley or Tuolomne Meadows! I will ALWAYS try to snag a site here on my returns to the park.

The only thing I would change about this campsite is where the bear box is located. It would be nice if it was somewhere more shaded.
@Stephanie53590 · Camped on Jul 13, 2025 at Campsite #304
Very peaceful and a beautiful landscape. Chillier than expected because we were at a higher elevation. A convenient drive to the valley, and a spot we could get 2 weeks before our trip.
@DavidS3927304 · Camped on Jul 13, 2025 at Campsite #224
Great to get away from the valley.
@JamesP3218459 · Camped on Jul 13, 2025 at Campsite #219
Great place for a last minute reservation. Wish it was closer to the main area but can not fault this location for it. Having the store right across the street was nice
@Michelene5E09D · Camped on Jul 10, 2025 at Campsite #512
We had deer wandering through our site each day. Very peaceful area with decent amount of room to set up. Quick walk to restrooms. Second time staying at this campground this year - will return.

Site 216 was great. We saw deer nearly everyday we were here walking through the meadow and our camp site.The site is set a little back from the road, closer to the meadow and gives nice privacy.Far enough from bathroom to be quiet. A small walk. I recommend bringing a big water container to refill at water spigot near bathroom to minimize trips. Buying wood from the nearby gas station is expensive ($16/bundle). There is a lot of downed trees in the area and it is permitted to use it at Crane flat. To do so, I recommend bringing a saw and hatchet.

Very nice campground, spacious and clean. Jim and Debbie, the hosts, were helpful and friendly. I also want to thank Christine and Darren at the Hodgon Meadow campground for their BIG help!

This location is amazing for the summer because the elevation allows for the temperature to drop at night and you are still close to the valley.

Beautiful site. The Rangers were wonderful at check-in and the ones that walked around to make sure everything was going well. The camp was lovely. Everything about this was a good experience plenty of shade good flat spot for tent. It was lovely highly recommend.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
