Sowell Creek Campground in Comanche County is located 1 hr 19 min southwest of Weatherford, TX with an elevation of 1,186 feet. There are a total of 62 campsites. The campground is open all year. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 30 and 175 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 61 sites have electric and water hookups. 1 site has electric hookups. Fees range from $24.00 to $190.00. Some amenities include shower, boat ramp, swimming. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Always love camping in Sowell Creek, it would be nice to find a way to have less grass burs. Also stop folks from going through and renting spot 54 just on Saturdays so if they change their minds, they aren't out a lot of money. I know you can see who they are, and this keeps others who really want to camp there as well from being able too. I also would love to see loop 5 stay open till the end of October and maybe into November. It has most of the 50 amps and it is close to the water that is safe for children.

If you are looking for a nice quiet place to spend some time and recharge Sowell Creek is a great place to camp, it's nice and people are respectful when camping down here. The spots a spaced out really nicely so you don't have someone 5 feet from your site. I have been here many times over the years and still enjoy spending time here.

I always enjoy camping at Sowell Creek, it is always so peaceful there and people are very respectful of the quiet hours. Sites are right on the water. Cell service (AT&T) is good there as well. Proctor is a great little lake to get away from the hustle of life. 5 Stars all the way.

People at the front gate were friendly and helpful. Grass was mowed. Campsites were clean. Rangers could be seen driving around rather frequently so felt especially safe.

The person greeting at the park entrance was friendly and helpful. The park was clean and the facilities were well kept and in working order. We will stay here again.

When we arrived we asked to be moved to the adjoining site & were accommodated easily. Site was clean and very level. View of the lake was excellent. Shower head could use some work, would not switch just to top shower head. Otherwise great experience & we will return in the future.

Excellent facilities, friendly staff, beautiful place and good place for stargazing at night. If you want to go away from city hubbub and have quiet stay this is the place.

Super friendly camp host. The lake is very pretty with beautiful sunsets setting across the lake. The grounds were well kept and were clean. Paved roads for walking were nice. Shower was hot which was very much appreciated.
