Great stay but, the fishing docks need to be repaired as they are unusable.

Campsite was great, well maintained. Workers were also super friendly & kinds. The only problem was the showers, they were terrible. Filthy, no hot water, and no water pressure. Would be a 10/10 If showers were updated. Everything else was great. But the showers were absolutely terrible

Second time in about a year we have camped at Sowell Creek. Probably thanks to the drought and low lake level, the park is pretty darn quiet and not overcrowded. All five or six spots in the full hookup loop were occupied but the sites are arranged such that you won't really notice anyone else. Park staff (probably volunteers) were pleasant. No issue with the hookups.

Always one of our favorites.

We arrived during a rainstorm. Our site (site 4) had about an inch of standing water in it. It dried out overnight after the rain stopped, but setting up inside of a min-lake (our site) wasn't much fun. I think "the new guy" must have been responsible for laying the asphalt in our site.Other than that, the campground is nice and our site was very spacious. I would stay here again and maybe even stay in site 4 again.

We had a 43 foot toyhauler and long bed truck. Easy to get in/out of the park. Our spot, #4, had a view of the water, was very clean and the whole park was exceptionally clean. Bath houses were clean but old. Water pressure and electricity excellent. TV reception was not good, after about 10:00, no local reception. The park hosts came around on a regular basis and were very friendly. Plenty of areas to walk for exercise. Deer and wildlife are abundant and a joy to watch. There is one downfall though: Most of the grassy areas are full of stickers that made life miserable for taking our dog out. If you don’t have pets or kids, you’ll be ok. We’d go back, just make considerations for our dog.

Stayed four days at Sowell Creek. Wonderful! Fishing was excellent, camp ground is clean and open. The only negative is the fire ant mounds, watch them! Don't step in them and keep pets away.

The grass at the campsite needed to be mowed and weed eater used. It was around 1’ tall and you could not even see inside the sites water hookup box without moving grass out of the way. Other than the grass great stay.

Beautiful park, well-kept campsites, nice lake views, clean restrooms, friendly personnel. The only problems were that we were tent camping in an RV campground (my fault). Water faucets are below ground level and I didn't bring a garden hose; not a big deal as we filled water jugs at the bathroom sink for washing dishes. The only thing that really got my goat were the "porch" lights strung from most of the RV's. Fine, but could you turn them off when you go to bed? Some of us travel out into the country to actually see the stars and the Milky Way. Perhaps there could be a "lights out" at 10:00 PM to coincide with quiet hours?
There is an informative and educational Historical Museum in Comanche; a great little side trip.

We were camping in our 33’ travel trailer and camped in Loop 1; spots 4 & 6.
We had a great experience and found the entire campground clean and beautiful.
We ended up staying 2 weeks instead of the intended 6 days and it was very peaceful & quiet.
We did run into town (Stephenville) for groceries and laundry and a pizza from Milano’s Pizza in Dublin.
We will be returning!

Very nice, well spaced, lake view. Bath House was very clean. Only issue I could see is not many trees at all, so shade would be a premium.

We've always enjoyed Sowell Creek park. It's quiet and picturesque, and there is quite a bit of wildlife as well.
