Park host are very nice. Campground is nice. Not all sites have working electricity and most are only 30amp. But we still had a good time.

The most horrible place we've ever been. They don't cut the grass, poor maintenance. There's nothing to do, not even fishing, swimming, nothing. I've been here since Tuesday night when we arrived, and I wanted to give it a try until today Thursday, that they would at least cut the grass. Nothing to it. There's not even a place to stay other than inside the RV. A lot of spiders, mosquitoes and we can see snakes. Dont waste your time and money. Looks like abandoned place.

The park was nice overall. The roads definitely need some workprobably because of all the rain, theres a lot of erosion. Only one shower worked, and it was cold. The bathrooms were clean, though. The bottom of the grill by the picnic table was totally rusted out. Honestly, this park could use a serious revampits kind of falling apart. Well stay again since its pretty and close by, but its in desperate need of some TLC.

The campsite was the almost closest to the water. It was also the second or third closest to the the boat ramp. Which if your in a kayak you better watch out for high speed boats and daredevil jet skis. The one complaint is lack of mature trees for shade. The bathrooms were clean and lockable which is great compared to some. The people involved with camp security Ann, Linda, and Andrew were amazing! They drove though every hour to check campers and Andrew especially saved me a probably horrible evening of non registered guests. The police and park rangers were also seen several times which was comforting!

Very quiet at this park even on weekends. Of course most sites are inoperable, like over half. So if you want to get some rest this is place to head for. Most sites require you to level RV. Park was kept up well, except so many sites are inoperable. Probably go back if I can get a certain site. I was at park for 2 weeks.

The camp site was clean and well maintained. I had plenty of shade - which was needed as t was hot. The bathrooms were clean, but some ran out of toilet paper. It was memorial Day weekend and I think some day people used unpopulated camp sites and caused over use. I would say that was my one criticism - that there was no checking up on anyone. There was not even anyone at the gate when I arrived (that's probably due to dodgy doge's illegal firings - so I don't fault the workers for that)

We went camping during May, We had trouble finding spots to put our tent due to them cutting the grass and just leaving the grass there. It was full of spiders my toddler had to be rushed to the hospital from getting bite our entire tent was full of them. The last day we camped the landscapers came back to cut the grass again the men didnt even let us know what theyre going to cut the grass AGAIN, grass was everywhere in our food just everything. If you decide to camp just call ahead and ask how the campground are.

The site was slanted and the blacktop was old and uneven. The amenities such as the picnic table and overhead were old and rusted. This was compensated for by the beauty of the location and the close proximity to shopping.

Got to the campsite at Sunset on Friday night. It had rained all day and was still sprinkling. The ground was saturated pretty badly and so it was muddy. The Camp hosts were friendly and accommodating. This was my first time there and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was nice to have showers & restrooms there, but I couldn't get the hot water to work. Maybe it was a user error. Anyway, I would come back, but possibly plan for a little mud.

The grounds are nice with plenty of space between sites. The restroom and shower facilities were disappointing. We were there last fall and all four restrooms in loop A were closed for repair so we had to use the restrooms in loop C. This spring we went back to loop A and two of the four restrooms were out of order and the other two restrooms had standing water on the floors because the showers were not draining properly. We had to use loop C restrooms again and only one of two showers was working. Additionally sites 7, 8, 9, and 10 weren't available to reserve.

This campsite has the best shower room in DFW. But it is soooo windy at least in February, you can hardly set up a tent. And I cant even put out the fire of the coral for BBQ because of the wind.

I will be sending a very in depth description of the worst campsite hosts I have experienced in my 35 years of staying at this lake. The older couple that hosts here are liars, narcissistic and the rudest hosts ive ever had to deal with. I would describe them as bullies. I am at a loss as to why they are still work here. They both believe that this is their land and that everyone and everything is out to get them.. I would really recommend a that the other couple that works here be out in charge and the older couple let go, I think it is time someone tells them to retire. Neither one of them are capable or willing to do the job. Its not right to allow them to bully the citizens of Texas without any accountability. I will be looking into what legal actions I can take to prevent this treatment from happening to anyone else.

Came back for a second tent camping trip. This time closer to the lake. Each camp site has a fire ring and a grill. Id recommend bringing a camp stove or your own grill, because just like last time, the park grills have seen better days. Some aspects of the park are showing their age, but the bathrooms are always maintained and were stocked with toilet paper both times I stayed here.

Its very beautiful here great sunsets. The only issue is the roads are terrible. It makes our self level drag a little bit because theres so many holes especially when we try to leave before they open up the other gate. They need to fix those holes. Put some gravel out there thats the only issue.

When we arrived at the campground, there was quite a bit of litter at our campsite. The grass was tall. It just looked unkempt. The Lake view is always is beautiful. But I am disappointed in the upkeep of the park.
@MichaelB697476 · Camped on Nov 25, 2024 at Campsite #37
Many trailer sites are sloped hard front to back making them challenging to set up on and difficult to live on for several days. The entire park needs a facelift as roads and sites are rundown. Views of the lake are very nice. Hosts were very helpful relocating us to a flatter site.

Super friendly and courteous staff, clean bathrooms and showers with hot water. I will definitely be coming back.

Everything was super great!!! The bathrooms could have used a little more attention but its understandable how quickly it gets messy and spider and wasp filled. Every associate was very friendly kind and on top of the job! Over all had a greatest time except the northern winds that broke a few things!

Campground was nicely mowed and well kept. Appreciated the fact that the campground is locked at night and no one gets in without being noticed by one the 4 camp hosts. Lavonia is a very old campground and could use some updating. The bathroom/bathhouse closest to us was out of service while we were there but was told it would be repaired in the nest few days...after we left. The other bathhouse/bathroom was very clean and showers worked perfectly. Our site was pretty level, no issues with leveling and was long enough for our camper and pickup. We camped at Lavonia in a travel trailer.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
