Its very beautiful here great sunsets. The only issue is the roads are terrible. It makes our self level drag a little bit because theres so many holes especially when we try to leave before they open up the other gate. They need to fix those holes. Put some gravel out there thats the only issue.

We were there for an overnight to attend a memorial service. It was hot and my AC was running but when we arrived back at the site, the AC was not functioning properly. I checked my surge/EMS at the post and it was a problem with the electrical service. We shut it off and opened the windows and luckily it had cooled off. This was site #34

It's an inexpensive campground near enough to Dallas. But this park needs some work. There has been a blue tarp on the roof of the checkin building for three years. The pavement all over the park is full of pot holes and damaged areas. The exit lane, with the no-reverse spikes is collapsing so I'm afraid to drive over it.But mostly, the power hookups were awful. It's a 30 amp hookup, but you can't draw much over 20 amps without the voltage falling under 100v and my power management circuit cutting off power to protect my ac.

Site #34 has a electric power box that needs repair.

The park is in a nice area on the lake, sites are well spaced and the park hosts are nice but it needs a lot of work. All of the asphalt needs to be repaved, low voltage issues were a regularity, only 30 amp service but it's one of the few corps of engineers parks I've seen with full hook ups. Could be a great park with some investment.

Not well maintained.

The sites are aging a bit, but everything we needed worked and the view was great. Campsites are spaced far enough apart that you are not feeling crowded. If you want to grill, be sure to bring your own grill or plan to use the fire pit - the ones at the sites are mostly rusted out at the bottom on at least one end.

I live only 15 minutes from this park, yet without a trailer I have not camped here in over 30 years. Having taken delivery of my new travel trailer, I was pleasantly surprised at the facilities in the hookups were great! Didn't mind the half-price off because of my national parks card either.
