Great park with great views. Nice and quiet

Everything was super great!!! The bathrooms could have used a little more attention but its understandable how quickly it gets messy and spider and wasp filled. Every associate was very friendly kind and on top of the job! Over all had a greatest time except the northern winds that broke a few things!

This park needs a huge amount of help/funding. The sites are nice and have spectacular views. The roads however are horrible and the check-in office building is in bad shape (its not habitable at this time due to a severe roof failure).

Lavonia is VERY close to home for us, but still gives us the experience of camping and being away from home. We love the views from these campsites and you cannot go wrong with the sunset over Lake Lavon. One of our favorite things about this is the full service (water, electric, sewer) because our tanks fill rather quickly in our small tow-behind camper. We try to make this a regular occurance every year.

We love lavonia park but it has significant problems. I seriously doubt that the 30 amp plug in produces 20 watts. The sewer connection at our last couple of site are extended so far above ground level that it's very difficult to drain the sewer tanks.

The Good:
Camping spots are nicely spaced where you don't feel right on top of your neighbors. Grounds are generally good. Staff at the check-in are nice and helpful.
The Bad:
The site needs maintenance/upkeep in almost every other area. Covered picnic table area needs need new tables, coverings, fire rings and grills. I couldn't find my spot at first as the painted number was barely recognizable. Trees need branches trimmed so they don't scrape against the metal picnic overhang as a mild wind at night and it's terribly annoying. Don't get me started on the bathroom facilities, they should be demolished and are basically unusable, especially if you don't like the 100 spiders inside. Bring your own portable solution - period.

Full hookups are nice. Very large sites with great views of the lake. The restrooms in the A loop were recently upgraded and very nice. Boat launch restrooms are not nice at all. Not sure about others. Beautiful sunsets over the lake. Watch out for lake road. If coming from the south (i30) do not follow GPS to take lake road from tx-58N. Go another mile and you meet lake road again. That entrance is MUCH better. Highly recommend siren rock brewery in rockwall. Beer and food are both excellent. We were in site 19 at which the sewer pipe was sticking a foot out of the ground. Hard to get a good downward slope to the hose.

Overall, the park could use maintenance. The curb on our site was messed up and the black hookup took an extension to reach.

Always a great time at Lavonia. Clean sites, convenient boat ramp and quiet evenings!!!

Most sites have a lot of spacing between sites. Most sites are very unlevel, bring a lot of blocks.

Site was GIANT and went down to the water. The park was super quiet with all kinds of cell service.
