Beautiful location. Friendly park host. 80% of lots are (and have been for more than 1 year) unrentable because the COE has not bothered to repair some of the electrics.

Lavinia park is beautiful, the roads are beyond scary. I was afraid that the road would give away while driving on them. The bathrooms are dated but very clean. The camp hostess was a sweetheart and so welcoming.

The roads and sites are pretty narrow and could definitely use work. The sewer is behind the site (4) and you will probably need an extension in order to reach it from your holding tanks, depending on their location. However, the camp hosts were kind and friendly, the area did not have many mature trees but many smaller trees so time will likely help that. My grandsons, 9 & 7 loved the wide open space and the shoreline. Oh and the sunsets over the lake are NOT to be missed!

The two stars are for the view, one of the best views i had seen. But the sites are incline making difficult to level RV. Also lots of strange people. It just didnt felt safe.

Labonia has become one of my favorite Dallas destinations. I was in a motorhome in site 4. The site is on a hill overlooking the lake. The fields were all nicely mowed. This park will provide you with the most beautiful sunsets. All the sites are about 125 feet wide and most sites provide covered picnic tables. Most Army Corps of Engineer parks do not have sewer. Most Lavonia sites provide sewer. The park is close to Lavon and Rockwall, churches, shopping and dining. I camped for 2 weeks at a Senior Pass discount of $15 per night (normal rate $30). Negatives: A lot of very nice sites, but some not level. You will also need to limit electrical usage to 24 amps.

There seem to be several first come first serve sites that are vacant when we get there and are not used while we are there. We are wondering how to get one of those sites. On our recent stay the bathrooms didnt seem to be as clean as previous times when we stayed there.

This park could be so much better if just a few basics were covered. If you plan on camping here, bring a weed eater so your site doesn't have thousands of weeds blocking your view of the beautiful lake. Also, be aware that the electric outlets only support 24 watts - so you have to limit what you are using at one time. If you are looking for large campsites, this is the place to go - the views are beautiful! And you can have a fire at your site :)

It is a very quiet and beautiful place to camp with family and enjoy the sunsets while walking and listening to birds and the wind.

this is a great campground with huge sites, well maintained. we had a beautiful westward view of the lake and sunsets. the staff that worked there were great. most of the sites had covered cement tables. you will need to plan to level your camper as some of the sites have a slope. they had restricted access coming in when we were there. 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. you can leave anytime.

Gate attendants (The one with the dog )not friendly to us or our guestsWe did like the fact that there was sewer. We had a beautiful view but the hill we had to climb on to get to table and lawn chairs was very hard on us. Seniors have a hard time climbing. We did use the showers and we must say they were spotless every time and water was hot

Excellent location on the lake for a park campground, but minimal if any infrastructure maintenance is being done. Several sites were not available for RV use because of electrical problems. A few other sites were held aside in case campers from some other sites experienced electrical problems and needed to move.Asphalt roadway and RV pads are extremely degraded and unmown grass growing in the cracks. The restrooms are in very poor condition and we had to prune some tree limbs to get our RV in and out of our site without damaging the sides and the A/C unit. We are into self-help and the tree pruning was no problem, it just added to the annoyance of the lack of TLC for this resource. Im sure there are budget constraints and we in no way expect nor want resort accommodations, but funds need to be invested to bring this campground back to proper operation.
