Loved the views but stickers were out of control
@KimberlyW93778 · Camped on Oct 11, 2025 at Campsite #9
The stickers are horrible and the trees need to be trimmed for taller trailers

Sandburs were out of control! Terrible! Do not plan to return to Yegua State Park in Somerville, TX.

It was good except at the boat ramp where the buzzers birds got on my truck and ate the rubber casket seals off the doors, windshield and wiper blades.

Site 4, very big, no close neighbors, lots of grass stickers and buzzards

Stayed one night. The campground was very clean and the park host was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is stickers everywhere. All I did was hook up and unhook. My shoes and socks were covered with stickers.

Wow, have always loved YEGUA. The site, 68, and the lake were perfect, but I have to inform about the bathrooms, which were unusable. No joke, hundreds of thousands of fruit flies so thick you didnt dare go in there, a 1/2 layer on the toilet water, 2 foot spider spider webs even at the entry. I would understand at our area which was closing Oct 1, but the main area was just as bad. Not blaming the bathroom cleaners, clearly something needs to be done to keep the pests out. So sad.

The bathrooms were unusable. Completely full of bugs,spiders and 2 feet deep in spider webs on the ceiling. Sinks and lights were also covered.

They have some great view sites of the lake and if you have a lifetime seniors pass you pay half price. Either way it's a great place to stay and very affordable. The people there are very friendly too.

Awesome stay. Very peaceful & quiet, campsites are far apart, very clean. Restrooms and showers are nearby. Many trash dumpsters in each loop. Neighbors next to us came by to say hello. Friendly staff members who would wave and greet us. Everyone is friendly. Activities are fishing, boating, picnic, BBQ. Deers, racoons, buzzards, ducks, cranes and other wildlife in sight. We plan to return here for more camping days.

This was my husbands and my first time to camp at Yegua Creek. My parents always took their camper there when I was younger and now I know why! Its perfect! So well kept, beautiful view of the lake from our spot. The sunsets were amazing and we cant wait to go back!
@DeniseL2073409 · Camped on Aug 9, 2025 at Campsite #36
The campsites were great. The access to the water is very restricted for fishing.
@JeffN3539947 · Camped on Aug 7, 2025 at Campsite #13
The bathrooms are horrible, no water pressure, the shower heads are broken, and the ceilings are so full of spiderwebs it's terrible.the campsites have weeds everywhere, you can't sit outside in your spot because the grass has not been mowed.

Good campground. Bath/ showers need attention because of gnats caught in webs

This is a wonderful park. My only complaint is they need more funding to do upkeep. Trees at this park are becoming a big problem.

Very pleasant 8 days @ #24. The restrooms needed attending and there was high grass & stickers but we survived.

Not being maintained. All metal rusted and could use paint. Bathrooms trashed and deprecating. Grass grown over causing habitat for a large mosquitos. Not the same I remember as a kid. Needs new management.

Loved it! We had wonderful spots. Quite and serene.

The bathrooms need outside doors to the bath house replaced to help keep bugs out. The bridge on the trail is out and needs to be noted on the map. Tree plaques with names need to be properly placed. And all electrical boxes need to be working. Its a beautiful park for a quick getaway. Mamas Kitchen on the other side of the dam has great food. There is also a grocery store there too.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
