Great location with lots of water access. The sites are a bit close together which could be a drag if the place was full. Plenty of trees for shade and the price is right. There is one small trail but a closed bridge makes completing the circuit impossible.

The showers could have a better supply of hot water. Usually end up taking cold showers, not good. Also our site had a bunch of larger white rocks that made it hard to walk on without tripping. We’re older, so we had to sweep them together in a pile, to avoid injuries. All in all it was a very pleasant stay.

We have stayed at this campground numerous times and always enjoy it. We had a great view of the lake but unfortunately we had very windy conditions with thunderstorms so kayaking was out of the question. The only negative experience was a fellow camper that left his dog outside barking for hours at a time. Thats not the nicest thing to have at 7 oclock in the morning.

Great camping, only wish there was something that could be done about the burrs in the grass. They are hard on dogs.

We enjoyed the park and the scenery there is wonderful. Our one complaint is that the whole park is covered in stickers. Our new little puppy has still got two stickers embedded in her paws that we have been unable to get out. We are going to have to make a vet visit to get them removed. This needs to be remedied for the enjoyment of all your customers and their pets.

Was turned away at gate due to arriving early 1:30PM, clock in is 3 PM, took drive to Snook to past time until 3 and had truck trouble on the way. Truck was towed to College Station where it took a week for repairs. Normally our experience at Yegua has always been good, since we never made it to the campsite I am reluctant to make the review however when the attendant stated that I needed to read the "contract" I was a little startled as the gate attendants at all the sites we have visited have been more than kind. Our experience was not due to the site itself.

I don’t think I should be charged 10 dollars to modify a trip.

The only reason booked this date so we could check in on the 23rd before 3pm. We have been camping at Lake Somerville since the late 1970's, usually 3/4 times a year. Also, stay at many other COE parks throughout the year. The only Parks that have enforced this rule are Canyon Lake and now Lake Somerville. Hotels have similar policies; however if a room is available they don't make you pay for the previous night or make you stand out on the street till the check-in time. They let you check-in. If not available you can sit in the lobby and wait. Don't know Somerville's policy but Canyon is must move vehicles off COE property. I am not a believer the customer is always right but believe good customer service is an asset. This policy is not good customer service. As a side note most campers leave the campground in the early morning hours so sites are available and they have paid for the available services till 2pm so the COE is at most losing an hour of service.

Well first thing we came across was the grass burrs everywhere, the second thing and most irritating was the lack of plastic over the vent screens in the shower/restrooms, the cold wind cut right through you when wet. Also the very very short supply of hot water. We could only take about a 1-1/2 minute showers, and then no hot water. BurrrrOne last item is the lack of a decent hose on the faucet at the dump stations. We still love the park, and friendly people.
