lake is up and the fish are biting.
The only reason booked this date so we could check in on the 23rd before 3pm. We have been camping at Lake Somerville since the late 1970's, usually 3/4 times a year. Also, stay at many other COE parks throughout the year. The only Parks that have enforced this rule are Canyon Lake and now Lake Somerville. Hotels have similar policies; however if a room is available they don't make you pay for the previous night or make you stand out on the street till the check-in time. They let you check-in. If not available you can sit in the lobby and wait. Don't know Somerville's policy but Canyon is must move vehicles off COE property. I am not a believer the customer is always right but believe good customer service is an asset. This policy is not good customer service.
As a side note most campers leave the campground in the early morning hours so sites are available and they have paid for the available services till 2pm so the COE is at most losing an hour of service.
