Overall beautiful park! Nice tent areas, the only complaint was there was a large amount of sticker burs in the grass and several ant piles. Made it hard for the kids to play. So be cautious and wear shoes!!! Maybe they will treat the areas eventually.

Very friendly staff

Had a great time. Campsites are decent and everyone is friendly. Water access a bit tricky for "beach goers" as erosion control was in place. My only true concern was the bathrooms. Too many wasps inside restrooms making things a bit uncomfortable during vulnerable moments. Could use a good cleansing. Was there for 4 days and restrooms progressively got worse.

The camp is very clean and the camping sites are spacious!
@JessicaK101721 · Camped on May 23, 2025 at Campsite #119
Site 119 is very shady and the long length of level gravel allows for camper, truck and additional truck with boat to be parked. The bathrooms were not as clean as times we've previously stayed and the grass needed to be cut all around the grounds but overall we would stay again.

The bathrooms are HORRIFIC!! They do not clean them or spray down the bugs. The shower is even more scary to use! The grounds are not more so there are stickers everywhere and that means the bugs are out of control! We were there for a week and never saw anyone working except at the gate.

Location needs more maintenance. Grass and weeds a foot tall in the gravellled parking area

We loved this site and park. The pad was gravel and fairly level. The park was clean and the trails are well maintained. The camp hosts were awesome! Very friendly and knowledgable about the park and area.

Great park as usual. They are still recovering from catastrophic storms from years ago but they're still open!
@CandiceD88ADF2 · Camped on Apr 4, 2025 at Campsite #148
Site #148 has a great view of the lake, but was a tight fit for our 44' fifth wheel due to the positioning of the pavilion. We made it work, but you'll want to be careful if you're a big rig and have a slide on the back end of the passenger side. Big rigs should look at the satellite views to see which sites have covered picnic tables and how they're situated in the site for navigability.

Nice, well kept facility. Volunteer help was very friendly and knowledgeable at the gate. Liked that you could still get to the campground after hours with the combination lock at the second gate.
@CandiceD88ADF2 · Camped on Mar 30, 2025 at Campsite #56
Site was plenty long enough for our 44' fifth wheel plus our large truck. Interior roads were easy to navigate. Loved the view of the lake and listening the birds and the waves. The bathhouse could use some attention as it was full of dead and live flying insects. A visit to the Blue Bell Creamery in Brenham is worth the drive.

Far too many Fire Ant mounds in and around the campsite. This is something that could be cured very easily.

Great park
@CharlesH3D71D7 · Camped on Mar 13, 2025 at Campsite #86
Beautiful setting, clean restrooms, spacious sites, very well kept grounds, plenty of deer and 15 minutes from all amenities (like Walmart and Starbucks!). Not to mention that the park is reachable within 1 to 1 /2 hours of all the major cities!!! What else do you need?
@LisaM2898345 · Camped on Mar 3, 2025 at Campsite #59
We spent 4 night here in site 59. Our site was spacious, but some of the lakeside sites are more cramped. We enjoyed walking the mowed trails with our dog. There is a low drone that comes from a plant across the lake. Good location to visit Brenham & College Station.

Nice park, good views of the lake, clean bathrooms, quiet, lots of deer

Water was off even though temps were above freezing all day Saturday, neighbor had a dog running loose and barking for 3 days before park ranger moved him to the group camp area, said to me the guy was a regular troublemaker and is still allowed into the park regularly, why?

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
