Rocky Creek park on Somerville is a very nice place to camp in an RV. I would rate it excellent except for the following items:Dump station entry is on wrong side of camper. Easy to fix by adding dump port on other side of loop.Grass needed mowing bad and was full of sticker burrs.Fire ants are out of control.

We were very glad to see that all of the grounds at Rocky Creek Park had been mowed. This past July they had not been and each of our group gave a written comment about it. Thanks to those who saw that it was needed and took care of it!

We've been coming to this lake for over 50 years, and never had any issues with checking in early. Apparently the rules for 2021 have changed, and it's very upsetting and disappointing.
There is NO early check in, and we, along with many other campers were refused in the park, and had to wait in our vehicles/campers along side the road for over an hour. This is unacceptable especially if there is no one in the reserved site. Please consider changing these rules to allow campers in if the reserved site is empty.
Other than that, the lake and park hosts were great!

Great experience for first time visit to Rocky Creek. Everything was well maintained and clean and we loved that there was a lake view from every spot. We'll definitely be back.Sad that so much of the park has been left abandoned to decay after flooding. I hope that plans are coming soon to rebuild and reopen this lovely park.

Mowing the grass could have been better. Grass burrs were everywhere.

Gate personnel were very nice. Would like to see more camp places restored sooner! Would also like to be able to use firewood with it in so much abundance everywhere! (safety concerns surely, but some stored by entrance would be nice!) Restrooms were fairly clean & water very warm, although the spray hose was missing in the women's shower. Park very growed up and weedy. With so many volunteer resident sites for park people, not much appeared to be done to improve the sites. Plant more trees!!! for future generations of campers - especially the fast growing shade trees. Petition for some of that government stimulus $$ that needs to be used for quality family time outdoors!!! :)
