We enjoyed swimming, hiking, deer watching and visiting nearby area. Thankful to have a strong breeze and cloudy westher

In January there are many sites with great views. The deer were fun to watch when we were walking through the park or sitting at our site.

Great campsite and very well taken care of. Sites are well taken care and lots of access to the lake and common mares to enjoy. Wildlife was nice and very active. Kids really enjoyed it.

Showers were excellent, plenty of hot water, plenty of hooks to hang your items and a nice bench, all inside the shower. The sites were large with plenty of room. Lots of dear everywhere in the park. The downside was it looked to be abandoned most of the campsites were closed and off limits. The landscape was overgrown and lots of burs in the grass. Would I stay again… yes

We was on the road to the park and a guy basically pushed us over to a stop and ask me my name ,I told him my name and he said you can't get in there until 3pm, it was 2:15 so I told him I'd go down to the end and park and wait until 3 and he come up short with me saying no you can't park down there so I said well ok I'll go down and turn around and he come up short with no you can't turn around down there,I have a 42 foot 5th wheel and after driving all day he was the last thing I needed to deal with. The road was narrow and I didn't feel I could Sit in it until 3 pm and was no way I could turn it around so I kinda got upset with him I said what do you think I should do back this 42 footer all the way back to the junction and accross the highway to park it he knew I was upset by this time and he said I guess you can go down there a turn around and he went on, so I drove down to turn around and the only way I could turn around was to go to the left of the gate through the exit gate and immediately back to the entrance road and make a u turn and went back down to the store across the highway and parked. We decided we'd unhook the 5th wheel and go back to the campground and check out our site and we did, there was hardly no one in the whole park and no one on our site so we headed back out and oh no here come smarty and basically blocked me in and said did you go in the exit, I said yes and he put both hands on his head and said you can't do that it's illegal. I said well I'm sorry what's done is done,he said why didn't you go through the entrance ,I said the gate was up and put his hand on his head and said there was a gate attendant there but I knew he was the gate attendant and he was gonna be very difficult to deal with and it was all I could do not to have a physical encounter with the man so we decided to find another place to camp. What would have been wrong with going down and wait or what would have been wrong with letting us go on to our site.

We were there during the ice/snow storm. Tom took great care of us, checking on us numerous times to see if we were OK. He's a wonderful host.

It was a nice visit. It would be a better place if it did not have sticker burrs. Great weather when we were there. Quiet park.
