Beautiful campground on Haypress Creek. Vault toilets cleaned in a regular basis, fantastic hiking options in the vicinity - definitely try the wild plum loop, round lakes trail. Creek was beautiful, cold and pleasant to dip your toes in after a long hike, there are swimming holes along the creek and in Yuma River nearby. Sierra city is a charming old mining town, recommend the Kentucky mine museum and Downieville for historic information and pictures.

We had an awesome spot right by the creek. A fun place to poke around, not at all buggy, and great white noise for light sleepers!

The trash bins are extremely difficult to open especially for seniors. The campground is full of downed trees and dried brush. A fire hazard.

Beautiful spot on Haypress Creek, going back next year for sure.

We were not notified that potable water was not available. You should NOT be charging your rates without potable water. Other than that, Wild Plum was as great as ever.

This is a beautiful campground. Campsites are spaced out. Lots of trees and shade. Creek flowing. Clean pit toilets.

A nice campground. Parking is limited for more than 1-vehicle, but this is stated in the particular campsite info

Unfortunately no potable water. Although not your fault, dry conditions prevented campfire. As is often the case, camposites were available at the site that had not been available at time of online booking. Very polite and helpful campground hosts.

This little campground is a gem that I continue to return to year after year! Great camp hosts who helped keep the bears away. Please help keep this beautiful little campground clean and keep bears wild by using the locking bear boxes for your food and toiletries, and taking your trash to the locking dumpsters.

Beautiful campground, but #30 is not good for a trailer. Narrow driveway is very sloped and requires expert backing up skills. If your door is on the passenger side you step out into the neighbor's site. Great site for tents. Cabover trucks could work, bring all your heavy duty leveling blocks, lynx blocks won't cut it.

We had a really nice time at this Wild Plum! We stayed in site # 30, which was a quiet site, not too close and not too far from the toilets and dumpsters, and also set away from the creek. It had a bear locker, picnic table, fire ring, and three different places you might consider putting a tent. The only downside of this particular spot was the lack of shade in the very middle of the day. The campground had a good number of water spigots if you need them, but bring your own drinking water. We loved the convenience of a nice scenic trail loop connecting to the campground. The camp host was very nice, and the campground was well-tended.

Love Wild Plum. Have camped here for many, many years.Bears were a huge problem this year. They are way too acclimated to humans.Dumpsters and campsites were raided in the day time as well as nightly. Bears have broken/figured out how to open the dumpsters.So - please replace dumpsters IMMEDIATELY. Garbage strewn around the dumpsters was a big mess and attractive to many creatures.Also - I noticed there is a new type of bear box available at one or two sites.Please install in all campsites in ADDITION TO existing bear boxes. One bear box is not big enough to fit food & multiple ice chests that most families bring camping.

Active bears, and rattlesnakes.

We do like the setting, but there was an aggressive bear that wandered the camp day and night eating peoples food and scaring the kids. The sites have bear bases but the bear can open them so all of our food was eaten in the middle of the day on our first day! We drove to Truckee to get new food ( local grocery stores dont have fresh food) then we had to watch our camp all day and chase off the bear whenever it came to eat our new groceries. The camp host was nice and let us use a bear box in a different site with a different style bear box that is harder to open, but then we had an awkward exchange with the people who showed up to camp in that spot and were shocked to find our food in their box. We then had to go to multiple sites and ask to put some of our food in other peoples bear boxes. It was very uncomfortable but we didnt have a choice. Also the bear opened the dumpsters each night and spread garbage all over the campground. I used to love seeing bears, but this bear was scary because it would walk right up on you in the middle of the day. I was worried that it might hurt my kids or my small dog so we were on edge the entire trip.

As a seasoned camper of 59 years at this campground (and mostly in the same camp site), it is the best place to camp (although we do not advertise this often...to keep it available for all of us who know this secret)! This year the camp hosts, Terry and Suzanne, were exceptional from the first greeting. They informed us about the bear activity and were very helpful every time that we had a question. They even helped out when I had a flat tire in the campground:). The bathrooms were kept very clean and they were constantly watching to make sure that people did not leave unattended campfires.Camping on the Haypress is a must as it is not only beautiful, it sings you to sleep each night (and deadens any noise from neighbors...or the bears this year - LOL)

The description is deceiving. Reserved a spot for a 20 ft trailer, but there was no place to park our car. The spot was a single spot only, this was not in the description. Tempted to park n the spot next to us but it was reserved...and never showed. Only a few spots are big enough for a camper and car, be careful with the description.... 20 feet means exactly 20 feet. Also, the bathrooms could have been better. Although cleaned every day, there were a few times where the TP ran out AND there was a group of 20 people with like 6 cars at the end of the loop. They parked in the street and we had to back up a 20 ft trailer and try to turn around. The camp host and campers did NOTHING. Not cool. Outside of this, we had a lovely site and the location is peaceful

Beautiful burbling creek and lots of pine trees and shade. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table and bear box to lock your food in. Weve been to Wild Plum a handful of times before. Theres always been a campground host before. Maybe thats just in the summer. Most recently we were up for Sierra City Oktoberfest and everything was clean and nice but there was no firewood for sale and even the general store was out so they sent us to a guy at the library who was out but led us in a caravan to the outskirts of town to get some. So that was nice of the guy but I wish there was firewood at the campground. And beware there is no electricity at the campground so you wont be able to inflate your plug in air bed Check out Salmon Lake in the Summer yo swim to a rocky island and jump into clear blue waters. One of my favorite regions of California

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
