The campground was beautiful as always the hosts were great. We enjoyed hiking and chilling at the lake.

Hike to the Sierra Buttes Lookout - spectacular view from the top!

We've camped at Wild Plum many times. It's one of our very favorite places.

This time, we got a flat tire form a sidewall puncture, apparently while driving into the upper campground. These are truck tires, in good condition. The nearest tire service is Les Schwab in Portola, about 50 minutes away, after you change onto your spare.

Also, for our RV conversion van, we need access to a sanitary dump station every few days. The nearest such dump station is Loganville, a USFS station a few miles west of Sierra City. The electronic pay station at Loganville is frequently out-of-order. This is a big pain. A can't understand why the USFS can't do a better job of keeping this functional.

Absolutely beautiful camping site. My nephew and I loved walking and wading in the stream. Salmon lake with an inner tube, kayak, or paddle board is wonderful. Bathrooms were pretty clean. All in all, We loved it and can’t wait to go back.

I come here every year and always enjoy this place. Tons of hiking and lakes to lounge at. All around one of my favorite campgrounds in the sierras. I will say there is no cell phone service in the actually campground, but if you drive into town you can find plenty of it (6 min drive from campground) if you really need it. Tons of wood around to purchase. Water spickets everywhere. If you’re there on a Sunday you can skip dinner at campground and have BBQ at the Buckhorn (in the summer). There’s a local Mini grocery store to purchase staple camping items and food. Sierra Pines Resort ( not a resort!) has a great breakfast with great views outdoors - highly recommend!!
