We stayed at site 12 which was a great spot. The campground is an hour drive into Yosemite, but it is superior to the crowded Pines campgrounds in the valley. We stayed one night at that campground and were glad to return to Summerdale which was much more peaceful.

Fantastic place to stay at the gateway to Yosemite.

Great access to Yosemite, since we were unable to reserve a campsite in the park. The setting was delightful, with a meadow adjacent and creek running nearby. The camp hosts, Jim and Holly Kelley, were welcoming and did their best to enrich the camping experience.

I enjoyed this campground although they don't have bear boxes and one was active while we were there. Probably because somebody left their pancake mix out. Some mosquitoes in the evening, and an orange strap of mine mysteriously went missing while we were out. The creek was nice. I'd stay there again. Beautiful jumping off point for Yosemite but leave by 7am and have your car reservation to enter.

Camp Host was great, friendly, checking on the entire campground frequently. Very quiet especially considering large groups of young people at the campsite. Very good experience. Did have a bear steal hot dog buns from campsite across from ours late one afternoon.

The camp host was awesome. The bathrooms were spotless and smelled great. The sites were nice and it was very soothing hearing the creek running at night when sleeping.

Camp hosts were very friendly and welcoming, they even had firewood for sale reasonably priced! And drove in a Golf cart to check in with everyone.

We had a great time on our annual Summerdale camping trip. The hosts, Jim and Hollie Kelly were very helpful, friendly, and kept the restrooms sparkling clean. They toured the campground several times a day to ensure everyone had what they needed. Yosemite Valley is only 45 minute away and Wowona Village is just 10 minutes down Hwy 41once you enter the park, which is only 1/2 mile from the campground. Fish Camp General Store is close by and has a nice variety of necessities for campers including ice. Big Creek flows through the campground and if the water is high enough and not too warm, Fish and Game stocks it with trout for a wonderful fishing experience. We have been coming here with our family for over 40 years and will continue the tradition well into the future!

Jim and Holly, the camp hosts were absolutely phenomenal. They were very attentive and kept the camp and bathrooms clean. Jim had jokes for days. Wed love to see them again when we visit the next time.

Camp hosts Jim & Holley Kelly really added to our enjoyable time at the park. Wish all hosts were as professional yet approachable and did the top notch Job as these two. Grounds were clean rules were conveyed and enforced with pride in their style.

Such a lovely campground! The steam running through was so peaceful and there are only a few sites so you feel a sense of privacy. The host was amazing and very hospitable.

Summerdale is a lovely campground with a healthy stream flowing through it. It's also a nice small campground, so it is quiet. You might occasionally hear a big truck or loud motorcycle passing by on Highway 41, but for the most part it is very quiet. The current camp hosts (Jim and Holly) were some of the nicest (and funniest) camp hosts that I have come across, and I do a lot of camping. Thanks for making our stay fun and relaxing.

The campground was well maintained and the camp hosts, Jim and Holly were great! It's small, but very quiet and so close to the south gate of Yosemite!

My husband and I booked a stay here months ago in anticipation of a 3 day stay to see Yosemite. We were a little worried about the distance from there to the park as it was about an hour away. And of course, anything inside Yosemite was completely booked out. We werent sure what to expect when we arrived but we were pleasantly surprised! The camp hosts Jim and Holly are absolute gems. They take incredible care of this campsite and really care about their guests. Bathroom had the cleanest vault toilet Ive ever seen, and Jim always had firewood available if you needed for $10. There are no hookups but there are water spigots around the camp. There are also no showers, but if youre feeling wild theres a creek that runs by the grounds. Its about an hour drive to Yosemite, but it is the closest campground to the park on the south side. Its quiet after 10 pm and we never had any issue with loud guests. We didnt have any trouble with traffic into the park, but we also left around 5 am to try and get there before it got busy. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit!

We were very apprehensive about this campground for many reasons. No hook ups, pit toilets and while very close to park entry it was quite a way from the valley. Well, we were so glad we chose this campground. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was because it really needs to have a dishwashing station, otherwise it was a 5+. The hosts, Jim and Holly were amazing people. They kept the grounds clean and the bathrooms were immaculate. It was actually the best pit toilets we have ever used and we camp a lot!. Jim and Holly were very helpful with any issues that came up and were always there to greet us with a smile and ask if we needed anything other than firewood which they would deliver daily. The stream along the campground was beautiful and provided a great back drop. We had no cell service or wifi but just up the road in Wawona, we were able to get great service and we also found a market and bakery that were outstanding. We were so close to the park that we got there early enough to avoid any entry lines It is a drive from the Valley but the quiet smallness of the campground and the wonderful hosts made up for any of that inconvenience. Definitely will be back, especially if Jim and Holly are the hosts.

This was a beautiful campground in a great location! The bathrooms were clean and surprisingly didnt smell. Our only complaint would be that the mosquitos got pretty bad in the evening, but thats to be expected when youre right next to water. Our camp was spacious and not too close to others. Would recommend!

Good location (just outside of Yosemite south entrance, overall quiet (a few kids a bit loud after 10pm) and very clean. Hosts were super friendly and helpful. The only downside is that it its almost an hour drive from the valley so had to get up earlier but we were aware of it. After seeing how chaotic and packed the valley campgrounds were, I highly recommend it if you dont mind that long but beautiful drive to the valley.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.
