First shout out to the wonderful hosts, Larry and Cathy. They were very friendly and welcoming. We booked very late for the summer season on May 9th not expecting to be able to camp in Yosemite or near Yosemite, but I have known about this campground for years and I decided to give a shot and was pleasantly surprised #05 was available for our plans so we booked it and waited until the day came. Based upon the photos, the camp site #05 didn't seem to promising, but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of this location. It was a secluded location that provided peace and serenity and we loved the site. We did not find any negatives about this campground. Even the vault toilets were much cleaner than I expected and we wouldn't hesitate to return again in the future. Being just 1.5 miles-2 miles from the entrance of Yosemite's south entrance on Wawona Road, made it convenient. I highly recommend this campground for anyone looking to camp near Yosemite, but was not successful in finding a campsite within the park. There is also a convenient General Store near by.

Nice, small quiet campground with a friendly host just outside of the southern entrance to Yosemite.

Spectacular and rustic forest setting with a bubbling creek for fishing and soothing nighttime sounds. The hosts were splendid, helpful and congenial. The only downside was that the janitorial crew was nowhere to be found, and when using vault toilets it really is particularly awful when the bathroom looks and feels grimy and unclean.
