Summerdale is always cared for by the nicest hosts and the campground is wonderful as always. 30+ years of family get-togethers and cant wait for next year!

We had a wonderful stay at this campsite, as we have for many prior years. Thankfully, the upkeep of the site has not (yet) been impacted by the unrest and personnel cuts that have upended the US Forest Service. The hosts were very gracious and attentive, having allowed us to arrive a day late over Memorial Day holiday, and not give away our spot to other willing travelers. Bathrooms were clean and toilet paper was provided, and frankly, what more could one ask for?

Best place to stay for a Yosemite trip

The site was good with close proximity to Yosemite, but the price was far too high for whats provided at the campground. There are only pit toilets, which is wholly expected at campsites, but for $40+ I would think there would at least be showers as well. This is the most expensive site Ive seen combined with the lowest amenities. The booking site is also confusing, saying that your site may be forfeited if it is unoccupied more than a day after your arrival. It is not uncommon at all for people to leave their site unoccupied because theyre traveling in an RV, to venture into the park, and return in the evening. This language only adds to confusion and stress when visiting an already busy area.

Nice site close to Yosemite entrance.

Campsites were clean and easily distinguishable from afar. No time restriction for fires unlike Yosemite Valley was a HUGE plus. We barely used our propane and gas burners because of this. Campsites had nice distance from one another so noise was not a concern. The site manager Sharon is a gift from heaven. Such a sweetheart!
