Beautiful campground! it's up in the hills away from the town, you feel like you're way out of town when it's actually just a few miles. Our camp hosts were amazing; they make sure the campground is well taken care of. There are no hookups or dump site, but there is potable water and composting toilets. The whole campground is very clean, has lots of wildlife, amazing and views. We loved that we could hike right from the campground. There are many hikes and an awesome little lake in this area. Granite Basin Lake is just down the road, you can fish, kayak, paddle board or just sit on the beach. The lake is very small, more of a large pond, but it is so beautiful with a view of Granite Mountain.

This is a very nice, clean campground. Beautiful views. Easy access with campground sites spread out nicely. The only down side was staying at site 18 led to smelling fumes from the vault toilets off and on.

I stayed for 4 nights, the campground was small which I love, about half full during the week. Super clean, trails right behind campground. I have verizon and was able to stream at night. Daytime temps in mid sept mid 80s in the day and low 60s at nightperfect. The bathrooms: super clean composting vault type..no smellpretty nice. Sites are well spaced so your night crazy close to your neighbors

Nice campground. We stayed in 17 as it was flat. Wasnt obvious there is a pathway through the campsite to the toilets.

We were in site 16. The site was spacious and clean. The hosts were friendly and kept the grounds and restrooms clean. I will be back!

Quiet campground. Site 1 is pretty level and has great views. Close to trails and far enough away from vault toilets and trash.

This was a nice, clean campground. Bathrooms were also clean and had 2 different ones throughout the campground. I also appreciated the pump they had for fresh water. I will say the sites were way too close together for my liking, felt more like a commune than an independent camping situation. Also, there was someone in my assigned spot when I went, so luckily the host was responsive and able to tell them to leave after they returned (they were gone for an hour when we got there, so we just had to sit around and wait for them to return). There were definitely more private lots, but if you were in the middle (I was in 10), there was a lot more activity and proximity to others. Ultimately I would go back here, but probably choose a less busy weekend and choose one of the outer lots.

Awesome stay! The hostess was kind and helpful.She came right out to help me find my spot (after normal hours) Her husband was just as kind and helpful. He gave me tips on the best way to get parked. Two of the best camp host Ive ever met.On top of that,they are volunteer hosts who went above and beyond to make me feel welcome.The best part was when I went to ask them something , I heard beautiful music (violin and guitar) coming from their campsite.I thought it was their stereo until I got closer and saw that it was them.They even invited me to stay and listen.Unfortunately I had company and couldnt stay,but I hope they are still there the next time I go.As a matter of fact they will be a major part of the reason I will go back. Best stay ever!

Very happy with the camp ground clean and beautiful

The campground itself was okay. No natural shade from mid morning to late afternoon for my lot in August. Some trees around for a clothesline and hammock. Hiking nearby was beautiful with large boulders and large open plains, the parts away from the lot were nice. There is a lot nearby with high ground that overlooks you. The use of speakers at the campground were a problem during my visit throughout the morning through evening. The camp attendant was understanding and there were times of peace only to be spurred up again by another arrival bringing their speaker. Ended up leaving after the first night due to so much city noise til 10pm.

Nice campground, well-kept and clean. Composting toilets were some of the cleanest Ive seen. We were in Site 9, which is a handicapped site with an electric hookup. As the description indicates, it has 50A electric, but no 30A, so bring an adapter if needed. No water hookup at site 9, but spigots are available near the toilet buildings. Some sites are well-shaded by ponderosa and juniper trees. The small campground loop is great for walking, and trails into the forest leave from the campground. We hiked the Granite Mountain Trail, 12 miles round-trip from the campground. It was strenuous for miles 4-8, but offered incredible views from the top.

The camp hosts Mark and Judy were both totally awesome. I had some really good conversations with them and feel like I made new friends. The campground is well taken care of and honestly, the restrooms were extremely nice. I can't wait to go back.

We were camping with our kids, trying to enjoy a peaceful weekend in nature, but instead were woken up at 3 AM by the camp host yelling at the top of their lungs for everyone to shut the f*** up. It was so loud and sudden that it scared me awake and terrified my children. Completely unprofessional and totally inappropriate behavior, especially from someone in a position of authority. I understand managing noise can be tough, but there are far better ways to handle it than screaming profanities across the campground in the middle of the night.We wont be coming back, and I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone, especially families with kids.

My family and I stayed at site 1 and enjoyed our stay. Things to keep in mind, the site is long and narrow. If your are filling air mattresses for example, you may need to make sure you have a long extension cord, our 25 ft. one was not long enough to go from the car to the tent pad area. We also had a large netted Coleman gazebo, which did fit, but would block our way to the tent. All lessons all learned! The site had a beautiful view of the mountain. My husband and I enjoyed watching a bat fly around at dusk catching bugs. Really quite and peaceful. Bathrooms were kept really clean and it was nice having access to water.

Beautiful park tucked in with trees and boulders. Quiet, clean and 10 miles from our home.

Site 1 was quieter than I expected. The large boulders blocked site 21 generator noise. Not a lot of shade in the morning hours but later in the day the one pine tree provides adequate shade. My rig set up is 13ft trailer with standard SUV, and it fit nicely in the site. Site 1 might be a challenge for anything over 16ft.

I purchased online a 2-night pass for a designated campsite. However, the campsite I really wanted was first come, first serve. Sure enough, when I got there, the campsite I wanted was available. So, I asked the host if we could switch the prepaid campsite for the first come first serve site. The answer was "no." I had to cancel the original prepaid 2-nights, which I did not even get a $8 refund as mentioned on the rec.gov website because there was a "system error." Furthermore, I needed to rush to pay now cash for the new campsite I selected since it was first come first serve. In hindsight, I spent $72 + online fees for 2-nights of camping, and no help from a ranger or a host. Let's just say, I'll stick to dispersed camping before using the rec.gov website for future bookings.

Still my favorite recreation.gov campground!Friendly hosts. Nice clean facilities. Tasty water! And trash removal.The sites are spread out better than most place. You still get some privacy. Some sites are very shady. Some are not.And it's very close to town.I will continue to camp here and recommend the place!

Campsites are too close together for me with not a lot of privacy on several sites. Not a lot of shade, so wouldn't stay there during the summer. The restrooms are clean. They do have nice trails right from the campground which is probably the best feature of the campground.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
