Unfortunately, a family occupied our rented space upon our arrival. It took an hour for the family to pack their gear (tents already in place) and leave. There was a little pushback from the senior male of the group. After we assured him we had a reservation and could provide the reservation number, he begrudgingly departed. Not sure this can be avoided unless a check-in system is initiated with the volunteer on the property. All said, we will return to the campsite.

The campsite is a double with ample space. It's our best stay thus far. I can't wait for the season to reopen!

The campsite is great, spacious and opens out towards Granite Mountain area. Its a double site so you have room for two tents. We saw some deer in the evening and something bigger visited our tent in the night. We didnt see what animal it was but it wasnt a deer, it left on its own after a while. I definitely encourage anyone staying here to be aware of the animals in the area, and be prepared. There was also an INSANE amount of red and black ants all over the site so be ready for that. We have a nice time and would come back again in the future.

The Grounds are very clean and maintained, All though there were some rather loud campers across from us ,it was still an enjoyable weekend trip.

Loop style campsite. Most sites nestled in trees. Our site was deep with 2 large concrete picnic tables which was great when the others from our family walked over from their site to hang out. Campsite clean/well maintained. Volunteer care taker came by to say hello and to make sure we had everything we needed. Our family enjoyed hikes and riding our bikes throughout the weekend. We would return again to camp at Yavapai Campground.

We stayed on the north side of the loop in 005 which had amazing views of Granite mountain to the North and was very spacious/secluded. There is only trees and trails behind the site which was not too far from the toilets and water.

Lots of privacy. Didnt even see the camp host till we were leaving which I love. And I have to say the best campground bathrooms I ever seen. Ive stayed at campgrounds with flush toilets that smelt worse than this one. It didnt smell gross once. I think all campgrounds should have composting toilets.
