First time at Susan Creek and we loved it! Great sights and large clean campsites. Very nice bathrooms with free showers! The camp host, Paula was helpful and friendly - we really enjoyed her company.

Susan Creek CG is a small, but beautiful BLM campground nestled against the Umqua River. I stayed enroute and on my return trip. The campsites are clean and well designed. There are flushing toilets and showers for campers to enjoy. There camp host was very helpful. The reason I gave a 4 star rating is online reservations are required and work great if you have cell coverage and don't try booking on the day of travel. The area has very spotty cell coverage, which makes it impossible to make last minute reservations. I took the risk to drive there without a reservation and found a space and paid cash.

No phone service here. The on-site phone doesn't work. Host can't accept payment. Why not use the payment dropbox already at the park. Lovely park, beautifully maintained, but we hate the check-in process.

Love this campground, has spaces big enough for my trailer and truck to fit nicely into out camp spot, and having a full bathroom with showers is a nice bonus!

Susan Creek is one of the most beautiful BLM campgrounds Ive ever been to in my life and Ive been to a lot. The campsites are immaculate. The facilities are clean and well taken care of the camp host was as sweet as Ive ever come across. Its just such a beautiful place to be along the north on River. Especially in the fall when the colors are changing, its unbelievably beautiful.

Beautiful campground, very clean, bathrooms were great. Sites aren't jammed together. No big RVs so it was really pretty quiet.

Susan Creek is a gem of a campground. Meticulously tended and loved. The sites are beautiful with huge trees and the N Umpqua running through it.

A beautiful and well maintained campground.

Very clean campground. Great to have showers. Hand dryers did not work. Most sites are too small for a large trailer. Part of the trail system is still closed because of the last fire.

We had a great time. The camping was perfect and our camp was clean and well groomed. The official in charge was very friendly and helpful

Camped right after public school started, it was tranquil. Sounds from the river, hiked to falls, visited town of Glide down the way. Excellent coffee shop. Restrooms and showers are the best.

Susan Creek - my home away from home! Love it there :)

A well maintained campground right on the river. There is a quaint little beach behind the amphitheater that allowed for a chance to cool off without getting into the main current.

On the second day of our three day day, one person in our party became sick with stomach issues. We learned later in the day that other campers in the campground also had similar issues. Late in that second day, the camp ground host came by and said the water may be contaminated. She said we had to leave the next day. Even after that notice, all the campground faucets were still open and no signs were placed on them, saying the water could be contaminated. By the time we left four out of six in our party were sick. The sickness lasted typically about two days. It seems like if the water was contaminated somebody from the state of Oregon shouldve come by tested the water and maybe asked people staying there if they had any symptoms. We understand the campground is now closed for two weeks because of the potentially contaminated water. We were rebated $10 but that seems like a trifle compared to being sick for two days.

Usually love this campground but this year most of our group got very sick with some kind of gastroenteritis. They closed the campground for cleaning the day we all left but they should have done so sooner. From what Ive read, people have been getting ill for at least two weeks. Bathrooms were out of soap and there was no hot water three of the four days we were there.

Susan Creek has always been one of our favorite campsites. Our experience was disappointing. Camp ran out of propane for a couple days leaving no hot water. And apparently the restroom was not cleaned properly causing a number of campers to get norovirus - us included.
@JammieP01F01F6 · Camped on Aug 3, 2025 at Campsite #25
My family had a horrible experience. We got norovirus and spent a terrible two days vomiting and diarrhea, terrible aches and pain. There was no soap only hand sanitizer, which does not prevent norovirus!

Great camp sites but a bit close quarters. The camp host was excellent. The facilities were clean.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
