This is a well-maintained campground with excellent facilities: bathrooms, showers, water faucets, waste disposal and garbage bins, even a recycling box. Because the campground is at the edge of a recent burn, it is often easy to get a reservation. Fragrant elderberries were blooming in May. Watch out for poison oak along the river trail!

I love this campground for its location, size, site cleanliness and always excellent and reliable camp host. Its also located near so many beautiful hikes, despite all of the burn areas from a massive forest fire a few years ago. I will definitely return each year unless it becomes so popular that getting a reservation becomes impossible

Clean, beautiful and wonderful walking trails.

Very well kept park. Clean restrooms. Most sites are well spaced apart. Lots of hiking opportunities without driving anywhere. Walk from the campground to the day use area and branch off to Susan Creek Falls, Tioga Bridge and beyond that access the North Umpqua Trail that leads many miles in both directions. Due to the massive wildfire several years back, some areas are still closed, but crews are working (chainsaw noise during the day) to remove hazards. This was our second stay at Susan Creek campground. Will definitely visit again.

Very relaxing and quiet. Trails are very well maintained, bring own entertainment as the horse show pits are still being repaired due to recent flooding. Camp sites are large and easy access. Bathrooms and showers are very clean. Hike from campsites to water fall is 5 mile round trip and well worth the hike.

Great campground, clean well maintained campsite, quiet neighbors, and the North Umpqua river 50' away! Numerous hiking trails (although an abundance of poison oak), and swimming for those that don't mind the cool water. Our favorite camping destination!

A wonderful facility. Nice sites especially along the River. The bathroom/showers were great. Plenty of water spigots to refill. Also liked the connecting trail to the Susan Creek Falls trail. Great job on this one.

Love this campground. We go there 4 or 5 times a year. Wish theyd replant some trees around it though.

Excellent campground on the North Umpqua. Clean bathrooms and showers are a major plus! The hosts take really great care of the place. I will definitely be back.

Awesome little campground! River is great, trails are great, camp host was super nice and helpful. Spots were big and clean. Didnt feel like we were on top of our neighbors which was nice. Probably the best thing is that the on-site restrooms and showers were extremely well maintained and clean. Highly recommend.

It seemed like a typical early December Oregon campground. It was cold, foggy, wet, and covered in moss and ferns everywhere. It was very peaceful and quiet. The hosts were exceptionally accommodating. It had been raining for a few days, so they didn't have any firewood split, but they said I could help myself if I were willing to split it. Deal accepted. As with almost every Federal campground I have been to the restroom was spotless, as was the entire site. A walk in the woods and down to the river was a nice wind down after a long day of driving.

We visited in late October and the leaves were full of colors, yellow, orange and red.
@MoniqueK98421D · Camped on Oct 13, 2024 at Campsite #7
Excellent campground! Spacious camp sites with plenty of privacy. The camp hosts are top notch... this place is spotless! We camped mid-October and all of the fallen leaves had been cleaned up from the camp sites. Hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area. All reservations must be made online, so we picked a spot and they let us know where on the road we could stop and get good reception to make our reservation

In spite of rude and clueless neighbor campers, this campground is impeccably maintained by staff. What an oasis. Thank you!

The water is contaminated with bacteria. There was no notification prior to arriving.

Poor experience due to contaminated water. The water at Susan Creek Campground was declared non-potable due to fecal contamination. Usually when I camp there I like to not only drink the water but use the showers. I did neither. I would have appreciated a warning about the water before my arrival so that I could have made other plans.

Excellent campground in deep woods near the North Umpqua River. Not far from Susan Creek Falls.

Well maintained, quiet, pleasant staff, spacious and private campsites
@NickH1210492 · Camped on Sep 12, 2024 at Campsite #24
One of the cleanest public campgrounds I've been to. Gravel (not dirt) at sites was raked like a zen garden! Nice fire rings and also separate BBQ area.

Beautiful campground with large, private sites, and new, clean bathrooms and showers. Truly fabulous.

Love this place been coming for over 25 years
@AntonG304C3EF7 · Camped on Aug 31, 2024 at Campsite #24
Campsites are clean. The restrooms and showers are exceptionally clean. Everything is working as it should. Staff refines territory with rakes after every customer blazing fast. Fireplaces are equipped with weatherproof compartments, so firewood stays warm and dry. Firewood is good and dry ($5 for the bundle, cash only). Spacing between sites could be larger, but overall very very good.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
