On the second day of our three day day, one person in our party became sick with stomach issues. We learned later in the day that other campers in the campground also had similar issues. Late in that second day, the camp ground host came by and said the water may be contaminated. She said we had to leave the next day. Even after that notice, all the campground faucets were still open and no signs were placed on them, saying the water could be contaminated. By the time we left four out of six in our party were sick. The sickness lasted typically about two days. It seems like if the water was contaminated somebody from the state of Oregon shouldve come by tested the water and maybe asked people staying there if they had any symptoms. We understand the campground is now closed for two weeks because of the potentially contaminated water. We were rebated $10 but that seems like a trifle compared to being sick for two days.

Susan Creek is one of the most beautiful and cleanest campgrounds I have experienced. Paula, the most wonderful camp host, was constantly seen out cleaning and tending to the sites. I can't wait to return.

Excellent campground on the North Umpqua. Clean bathrooms and showers are a major plus! The hosts take really great care of the place. I will definitely be back.

The campground is beautiful. We've visited the last 3 years and plan to return next year. The hosts are friendly and run a tight ship. The place is immaculately maintained - spotless restrooms, showers, grounds, and fire grates. They have even started a recycling program! Definitely a favorite place to camp. We are whitewater kayakers. The North Umpqua is a wonderful Class III river. We can takeout for one of the runs and walk to our campsite.

Such a beautiful campsite, we were in awe at how well cared for this campground, the sites, and the facilities all were. We pulled up to a freshly groomed pebble camp site, with direct trail access just a short walk to the creek that was magnificent in the morning when we went down. 10/10 would highly recommend.

We visited Susan Creek campground mid September 2023. This campground is so peaceful and very, very clean! The camp hosts are friendly and close by if you need anything. There are two different trails around the campground that are great for walking the dogs. The campsites have good foliage barriers between so you do not feel like you are sharing your camping experience with the neighbors. Love this place!

I loved this campground! I was a solo female camper and it felt very safe. The campsite was wonderful, nice showers, drinking water close by, neighbors were quiet and respectfully kept to themselves, and I could hear the river all night.

Sad to see the burn scars surrounding the CG but it is wonderful that SCCG survived the fire.

Campground bathroom was clean and grounds maintained nicely by campground hosts. Glad to see that the Archie fire did not affect the camping experience (even though there is wildfire effects immediately adjacent). Trail to dayuse area is great. Watch out for poison oak and disappointed that Susan Creek Falls trail will be closed this season due to wildfire damage. Still lots of other areas to visit.
