The new management team is making great progress. The restrooms/showers were very clean, the grounds was in good shape.Park hosts Jim and Linda are terrific. Obvious they truly care about what they are doing.

When I arrived to check in I found open sites that allowed us to stay additional days. I asked for my reservation to be moved to another site and was informed they could not do that. I had 2 choices, stay where I was originally or make a new reservation for the site that provided more days. I had done this inbthe past at SSCG with no problem. B I was advised I may or may not receive a refund and was offered zero guidance other than I needed to go online and try to cancel it. I was advised the rv park was under new management but i wasn't treated to a customer centric experience. Seemed like the staff woukd rather tell you no than to offer a solution or guidance. I have a 70 year history with S SPRINGS and felt pretty much kicked tobthe curb with a take it or leave it attitude.

We were excited to see new staff/management. The staff was very friendly but still enforced the rules. They were extremely helpful and shared info on improvements they plan to make. We have camped there for 15 plus years and loved the park. Glad we gave it another chance! We were considering not to because of staff issues last couple of visits.

We have been camping here for 20 years at least. Its gone way down hill. First of all they had more that 20 available walk up sites, we asked if we could switch to one in the shade because the one we booked was full sun and we had no idea. We were told no then they would be stuck with our site ( even tho I booked sites become walk up sites online anyways) . The spring only had one entrance now that is so covered with algae that my son slipped and multiple full grown adults slipped in just the few days we were there. When we asked why arent they scrubbing it they said it just comes back . I could barely get out holding our baby, its an extreme hazard . Now there is fences everywhere by the spring and the boat ramp consists of chunks of concrete, terrible. For how expensive it is here this was our last time .

Salt Springs Recreation Area is part of the Ocala National Forest. The RV sections are all full hook-up. The pads are paved and level with may site having large pines or oaks providing shade. Well separated from the campground are the springs. The springs have about 4 vents pushing a lot of 74 degree water. The spring swimming area is mostly level with a depth of 3 to 4 feet. It is full of fish.Tip for Other Campers:Go and enjoy the cold spring water. Once in you will either get used to the temperature or too numb to feel it.

Camped in June and the spring was amazing. The sites are clean and it's easy in and out. We will be back next June.

Well-maintained. Nice old oaks. Full hook-ups and sanitary stainless steel connections basins. Best sites are away from the occasional highway noise at the dump station. Get a shady site. Be prepared for lots of spider webs on the Bear Swamp Trail.

Very nice campground and well maintained. Bath house was very clean and the spring area was beautiful as always. We paddled Juniper Springs on Friday- the water was very low and there were a lot of obstacles to go under & over. Was a fun day, but definitely not for beginning paddlers. Saturday we went to Silver Springs. Once we got past the chaos at the put-in, it was a beautiful paddle. There are motor boats on this river alongside the kayaks, canoes and paddle boards.

Salt Springs is one of our favorite springs in Florida. The head spring is large and very clear. Some areas are shallow enough to stand up and others are deep, depending on the time of year and rainfall. The campsites are clean with fire pits and the park staff makes sure no one is too loud after 10pm. It's a fantastic place for families. There's also an amazing pizza/ Italian restaurant almost across the street (maybe 1/4 mile away) which has great food, especially the garlic knots and lasagna. I highly recommend this state park.

Beautiful, large spaces with great full hookups. Hiking trails plus the springs make this one of the best forest service camps weve ever visited!

Nice campground. Shaded full hookup sites. Also have a number of first come sites as well. Spring was great to cool off in. Large picnic area at the spring. No beach, just walk down the steps to the water. Weekdays were quiet, got pretty busy on the weekend. Staff seemed attentive and the campground was clean.

The campsite is extremely crowded and loud more like a playground. Nothing peaceful about it. The park is rundown and seems to be doing some construction. If the kids on elec scooters yelling and bouncing basketball wasnt annoying enough apparently next door has karaoke till 10pm. We almost packed up multiple times and drive home. It could be great but sadly it isnt.
@JuanGD9E4E0F0D · Camped on Mar 20, 2025 at Campsite #18
It is affordable and the sites are open enough to where you are not on top of another site. Plenty of room....

Horrible Manager. She was very rude. Hard to get a reservation and we had would have had to move every single night. We left after the first day. Won't be back

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
