This is a beautiful campground - the grounds are in pristeen shape, the bathrooms were spotless, the staff was very friendly. The sites are a nice size and are not too close together. Very peaceful!

Our visit during Halloween was great. The park was decorated & the staff did a great job of going around to all sites dressed up & handing out candy. A lot of fun.

Our only complaint of this beautiful park was the loud road noise around the clock.

The whole group really enjoyed the stay. We were only there for 2 nights and we never left the property. We were just happy to be away from all of the hustle and bustle of the crazy world these days. It was so relaxing. The facility's are well maintained and I found that each of the staff member I encountered we friendly and professional. We look forward to returning for another stay very soon.

Very nice workers in office and in golf carts and walking around. Restrooms clean and stocked. Grounds neat and clean.

Dumpsters could use more frequent emptying and perhaps a sign on them telling folks to put trash in the door, not throw over the top as the the top is not open like standard dumpsters.
Flies were too horrible to dine outside.

Salt Springs Rec in Ocala National Forest, FL is one of our favorite RV campgrounds, for several reasons. #1- We live about 1 hour away so it is close enough to get home if there was an emergency. #2- We are avid fisherpeople and have a small boat. Their dirt/concrete ramp within the park is for guest use only, and is very easy for us to use. The freshwater fishing is great seasonally and when the water is clear (we've recently had weeks of daily rains which have muddied the waters, so the fishing is awful!). #3- The park is very well maintained, however I can't speak to the restrooms/showers as we use our RV facilities And the staff is fantastic. #4 - The springs are fantastic to swim in! Just remember, the water is a constant 72 degrees! #5- There is MINIMAL cell phone reception. You may have to drive around the campground to get a signal. #6- The RV side is full service (30/50 amp, water, sewer); no cable. We were able to get DTV/air TV reception, but no local stations, and the 140+ stations we did get were "crap". So bring lots of movies and games! #6- They do have a "regular grocery store" just down the street, but we bring our own fresh foods and meats with us, and use them for "replenishments". There is also a dollar store the other way, with pretty good prices, and typical dollar store selection, plus some foods/frozen/snack, etc. (We like the Dollar Store). #7- There really isn't anything to "see" (touristy). The whole point of being there is to relax and smell the fresh air! Most campers walk or bike around the campground, walk their dogs, etc. #8- IF YOU ARE A SENIOR CITIZEN (I think the age is 62), ABSOLUTELY SPEND THE $$ (I think $80 for a LIFETIME national parks pass) TO GET THE SENIOR PARKS PASS. THE SAVINGS ON ADMISSIONS AND FEES IS PHENOMENAL! I think we saved over 40% on camping fees. Many national parks/rec areas, etc. are free with pass. #9- Make sure you review the site measurements and pictures before selecting.

Would like to be able as a camper be able to drive down to the springs on weekends when we camp there in the summer.
