Of course the weather is always the key factor in camping. It was a perfect 10. We love the "woodsy" atmosphere and the walking areas. We explored Lake George Trail and The Caravelle Ranch Trail...we walk down to the Salt Springs and also Kayak there. It is our favorite Florida Camping place. We are residents and try to make reservations in advance. Thank all the folks that keep it so nice and clean.

Although this park has become more costly with additional fees, it still is a great place to land for two weeks with all the amenities. With the America the Beautiful pass, it makes it reasonable. The springs and run are pleasant to visit and swim in with great kayaking. Ocala and Palatka are close, and the Atlantic coast is only an hour away with St. Augustine and beaches. Miles and miles of national forest trails to ride around in also, if you like doing that. Sites are kept well, and the bath houses are also very clean. Rule violations are not tolerated, and sometimes American Land and Leisure can be too aggressive in enforcing a minor infraction.

Salt Springs Recreation Area has great spacious campsites, full hookups, clean bathrooms and a super swimming area. We have been staying there for the past 6 years for 2 weeks each year and will continue to do so

Really nice campground. We reserved 3 sites for family 13. The sites were very spacious-lots of space for kids to run and play. The bathrooms were very clean all the time! The basketball court and covered pavilion were very large and lots of room for games and crafts! The spring is beautiful! Lots of fish and blue crab and manatee. The staff was very pleasant and helpful! Would definitely camp here again.

Place is beautiful, employers are terrible, we have been twice in this campground and both time terrible experience. We booked two nights and planning to stay another one, but they don't give you the opportunity to book if your site is firs came first serve until the next day and if is one spot available and is not yours they make you switch to another spot instead to give you the same one or give it to the new guest , doesn't matter is is a lot spots available. Is ridiculous, in only this place this happen. As a guest you can't take your car to the springs no even early in the morning when the parking lot is completely empty. I ask if I can go in my car for only 5 minutes and they said if you take longer that 5 minutes, I am going to move you. As a guest you don't feel preference they treat you really like they don't care. I ask if we can stay until 12pm to check out their answer is that I have to pay another night or a daily fee per person either one was $50. They don't do any exceptions, no even if your spot is available that day, mine was. The customer service is terrible, at 11 am for check out if you are not moving your camper exactly at 11 am they treat you like you are an offender, coming every 3 minutes 3 different people to remind you that is check out even if they see you packing is just horrible. Twice the same situation, we are not coming back, we camp every 2 weeks everywhere in FL and this is the only place that we have so much trouble for everything. The worse is now you have pay double price than use to be and feel so mistreat by everyone there.

Excellent, (almost level sites (only one block under a front tire), full hookups, close to Ocala and Daytona Beach, across the road from Odd Todd's Tacos. Rangers and Hosts were all very helpful with local information. I bet it is super busy in summer...

Beautiful park, helpful staff, fun walking trail in campground, well maintained campground, impressive septic system at each site.

Push button showers....really????? For such a nice park.....hmmmmmmmm!!!!! That would be an awesome improvement after you're finished with the electrical updates....those are really nice!!!
