Ray Behrens Campground in Monroe County is located 55 min southwest of Quincy, IL with an elevation of 687 feet. There are a total of 166 campsites including 1 tent-only site. The campground is normally open from the end of March to mid November. 165 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 32 and 107 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 60 sites have electric and water hookups. 106 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $24.00 to $30.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, accessible, boat ramp, fish cleaning station, restroom, amphitheater, flush toilets. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Camping reservations for the 2026 season will be delayed until February 15, 2026, due to ongoing infrastructure repair/replacement projects. Campers are encouraged to continue planning for the upcoming recreation season. This delay is a precautionary measure to reduce the need to cancel reservations if work is not completed by the expected date.

As always, Ray Behrens doesnt disappoint! Spacious sites spread out far and wide. They had to shut full hookup water off bc the temps were getting to close to freezing. Not their fault for sure!! I will argue if someone says that RB has a problem!!!

We love camping here. Camp host is always nice and the bathrooms are always clean. There is a few sites that the trees are to close to the camper but we always make do .

We stayed at campsite 31. We had no issues with the park. We walked the trails and enjoyed our time. We stayed for 7 nights. The park was clean and the gate keeper was friendly.

Site 19 smells so bad due to the sewer vent being so close to the site. We couldnt even enjoy sitting outside

Ray Behrens campground is a wonderful place to camp. Plenty of space campsites. Trails to the lake are well laid out and easy to follow. Something for every type of camper, some campsites are FHU while some are more primitive. This camp ground is quiet and peaceful during the week when school is in session. We will be back more often!

Two of our days were swarmed with ladybugs. Just that time of year. Will try to plan a better time for next year. Overall the campgrounds were great. The new bathrooms are much appreciated. They were kept very clean.

Another beautiful spot to camp. Trails through the woods, easy to find. Very clean/well kept. The deer in the morning were our highlight. Easy lake access. Short drive to shooting range. This location had the fire pit elevated a bit with railroad ties and rocks which made it awkward to get close enough for warmth and sitting by while cooking meals. We know what to look for when picking our sites now though.

We would like to see the traffic slowed down, and the playground equipment power washed twice a year. Other than that we love staying there.

We only stopped overnight but it wasn't too bad arriving in the dark. From what I could see upon our departure, the sites were very large and most looked fairly level. From all appearances, this is a very popular park and probably worth exploring further in the future. We'll be back.
