Frank Russell Campground in Monroe County is located 49 min southwest of Quincy, IL with an elevation of 696 feet. There are a total of 72 campsites. The campground is normally open from the end of March to the beginning of November. 65 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 46 and 85 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. 56 sites have electric and water hookups. 16 sites have electric hookups. Prices start at $20.00 per night. Some amenities include shower, dump station, playground, amphitheater, flush toilets. Activities include fishing, hiking trails.

This is a great campground. Full hook-ups, concrete pads, and lots of activities at the campground and nearby. Check out the visitor center across the dam. It is interesting.

Frank Russell is always very clean and quiet! We love camping here. The kids love camping here because of the fishing lake and the archery range. Such a cool campground! Plus all the new amenities and concrete pads are a huge bonus! The trail to the lake is beautiful too! It lands you in the perfect area to just sit and enjoy the peace of the water!

Stayed at Frank Russell--spots were excellent and upgraded--main road to campspots needs resurfaced--had continual 'bumps' where utilities had been ran across the road

Loved having full hook ups and concrete pad, and the sites had plenty of space and nice trees. Need to have recycling and lots were not level. Would definitely camp here again.

We've camped at Frank Russell several times during 2024. We love the campground but wish they would have made the pads more level.

The campground was fantastic. Great, wide sites and the concrete pads offer plenty of parking for rig and cars. The mature trees were in peak fall colors and the trails on the grounds were terrific. Our site didn't have much AT&T service, but many of the sites nearby had reasonable service. We had a great time and will come back.

Second stay & we loved it again! We love the concrete updated sites & small size of the campground. This time we walked the loop trail daily with our pupthe fall trees were so lovely. The camp hosts are helpful & nice. Only downside was that we stayed near the bathroom to accommodate our friends who have a smaller camper & the lights outside the bathroom were very bright throughout the night.

Very nice campground, well kept and seems to have been recently updated. Nice concrete pads, many have double wide pad for parking. Some sites have a grade not suitable for larger rv.

Love the double pad campsites. It was clean and the grass was cut. One of our favorite places to camp since it has been redone. Archery targets and lake is also why we love this campground. Its quite and cant go wrong with full hooks up.

We met some friends here and stayed for 6 nights. It looks as if the park has been upgraded to FHUs at every site which is fantastic. The only down side is the number of unlevel sites. We were in a 36 and even with our back tires off the ground, we couldnt get level. It was also unlevel side to side. Looking around, it was hard to find a site that did look level.

Nice campground. Tuesday, 9/17/2024 - Thursday, 9/19/2024. We had the entire loop to ourselves. Very quiet with little to no cell service. We enjoyed riding bikes throughout the campground although, the roads were rough from recent construction. The shooting range was only a couple of miles from camp. Several campers rolled in Thursday night - probably much busier on the weekends. We would probably stay again.

Very nice COE park, newly remodeled with concrete pads and full hook ups. Close to everything around Mark Twain Lake. The fishing pond and trails and everything is really neat. Very easy weekend out with the kids. Will be back!

The park attendant with the white truck with the veteran sign on his left fender was super nice! (sorry, I could not remember the gentleman's name.) The camp sites are spacious, well thought out. One of the best camp spots I have been to. All the land and trails, along with a big lake. So many things to do in this area, and this spot is perfect for it all. We will try and come back!
