We spent a long weekend here with friends. Our friends were all in tents and camper vans a few rows up. Because we have a travel trailer it seemed to complicate things. First, we werent able to get the same site for all 3 nights. Which wouldnt have been a problem if they hadn't given us such a hard time about moving right into our next site. After check out at 10am and no overflow to park in due to extra cars and picnic tables not in use. We were told to go park on route 3 until check in at noon. The only benefit to this campground was the accessibility to the park and a nice viewing area along the park loop. We personally will not be back to this campground. Hopefully back to Acadia some day. Just be prepared for how overcrowded and expensive it is.

Unfortunately, theres no control over the noise levels at the campsite. During my stay, a group of around five kids were playing and making noise well into the early morning hoursuntil about 2 AM. It really disrupted the peace and made it difficult to get a sleep. If youre looking for a quiet, restful camping experience, this might not be the best choice.

I was really happy at the Blackwood's campground. Stayed in A094. Great spot. Hiked the Beehive, great hike. And hiked the middle trail up South Bubble. Very difficult. The other 2 trails a lot easier. Also stopped at Sand Beach. Recommend early evening for walking around to sight see. Fewer people

The proximity of the campground to hiking trails, like Cadillac Mountain, was a big plus! Easy drive to Bar Harbor and the Park Loop road! Highly recommend activities like rock climbing, cycling and sea kayaking. There are lots of great outfitters in close proximity.

We absolutely loved our stay at Blackwoods Campground and definitely hope to return. The rangers were all very polite and helpful and the bathroom facilities were clean. Our campsite was spacious, well-graded, and tree covered for shade. Unfortunately it rained quite a bit during our stay, but we stayed dry nonetheless. One other unfortunate occurrence was the amount of trash (napkins, plastic cutlery, etc.) that blew onto our site from neighboring sites. I felt like every time we returned from an outing there was a bit of trash to clean up. It saddened me that other campers would treat our environment/ the national park this way. All told though it was an excellent stay!

Site 82 slope is excessive. Beautiful location but terrible site

The site was a little hard to back into because of the narrow road and the approach from a different direction. The bathrooms were nice and had a few places prior could use to plug in chargers. Don't pick a spot on the same loop as a group site if you want quiet. The kids partied well into quiet time and then the next group were up and roaming the driveways by 6am.

Exceeded expectations
@Cassandra3A150 · Camped on May 26, 2025 at Campsite #B82
Campsite is conveniently located near the bathrooms. Neighbors respected quiet hours and I had no issues with generator noise etc. However, be prepared for folks to illegally snap and burn downed wood rather than paying for local firewood, which not only kicks up more dust and creates more smoke, but also makes an awful racket. This campsite does not have a great view of the sky but it is very peaceful and for a two-person tent there is a nice very flat spot, no issues setting up the tent.

Excellent campground, as described - the adequate amount of facilities, response and perfect for family outings!Incredibly close to showers (welcome surprise!) and close proximity to gorgeous sights, trails and last but not the least, in the midst of nature!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
