Wonderful time at Blackwoods, the sound of the breeze in the trees at night was very pleasant. Camp sites were well spaced and very nice.

WAY TO CLOSE TO OTHER SITES.

We have been camping at blackwoods for over 40 years and love it. We definitely noticed the funding cuts this year and lack of senior staff. Reduced drive throughs by rangers after hours resulted in numerous sites not following the one car, quiet hours, and fire rules. Volunteers and young rangers did the best they could and were very nice. We support our parks and want them better staffed! Thank you to those working and volunteering. We appreciate you!

The tent sites are nicely maintained, and there were plenty of open first come, first serve sites available. The self-pay boxes were pretty simple and the facilities were clean.

Blackwoods was such a nice campsite! Every tent site looked like a good one.

I enjoy the Blackwoods campground, and I've stayed here several times of the years. It's in a really great location near some of the best destinations on Mount Desert Island. There are pretty nice trails right from the campground, and the free bus stop at the campground is very convenient. The campground itself is OK if you have a tent. With an RV/trailer, it's not great -- the sites are mostly relatively small and not level. They also don't trim overhanging tree limbs well, so it's quite possible to scratch a higher vehicle or trailer pulling into some of the sites. The cell phone service is also terrible here, though it's not the fault of the park -- the data on my phone doesn't work at all here during the day when more people are in the park and connected to the tower (you would think that the cell phone carriers would upgrade the capacity on the towers in the area). The data works, but slowly at night and early in the morning.

What a magical place to visit! Love how the campsites had plenty of room and the potable water and bathrooms a bonus. I had some very noisy neighbors on both sides of me, but they were quiet during quiet hours. These campgrounds were conveniently close to many of the hiking trails. When I first arrived I was given incorrect directions and guided to the wrong site but I knew that was incorrect so no biggy. I felt there could have have been better help when I walked in the office later as to the option for hiking trails. They werent busy, just seemed disinterested. The park did provide a great map and it guided me to many fabulous trails.

Outstanding. We were worried about the impact of NatPark funding cuts, but were delighted by your crew and the campsite. From checking-in, to the roving gentleman from NJ straightening up sites prior to arrival, to your staff cleaning the rest roomsall were polite, energetic and helpful. We enjoyed the night time ranger talks, the free bus service, the well maintained facilities, and even the reception of cell service. Thank you!

Trying to sleep there this year was horrible! Campers right behind us fighting swearing and telling every night! Weve been coming up there for over 30 years now. Never had any issues!

Great location! Love that it is rustic! Very difficult to book a spot.

Bicycle traveler. Spent 2+ days in the park on both carriage roads and public roads. The campground does NOT have hiker/biker sites like many national parks. It would be easy to open a site near the entrance for multiple hikers. Bikers can NOT schedule a campsite in advance b/c they dont know exact dates of arrival when traveling for weeks at a time. Rec.gov is only accessible via internet but many parks like Acadia have spotty or no service in park. The carriage roads were well maintained and wonderful to travel upon but the e-bikes were out of control. Large groups of e-bikes, traveling way too fast, frequently ignored politeness by not giving warning before passing nor slowing down. Would be nice to have showers, even outdoor ones. The park is beautiful and well cared for. Thank you for the experience.

While Blackwoods is a very large, busy campground there is still privacy to be found. Some spots are obviously better in this regard than others. I recommend looking for spots on the ends of rows and the lower number spots in the B loop seemed slightly more private in general. Heads up: there is no soap in the bathrooms- just sanitizer (& sinks) so bring your own soap! There is a donation box at the guard station so if you forgot camping gas or another common item make sure to check there before you run out and buy a replacement.

Big trees, lovely amphitheatre and close path to the ocean. Shuttle was easy to navigate but would fill up quickly during busy times. Showers were a short drive or a 20 minute walk away. Rangers were helpful. Bathrooms were clean.

The camp ground, while busy was nice and quiet. It was easy to get to places (either by hiking or taking the free shuttle). It also has easy access to a great spot on the ocean.

It's peaceful and quiet here. Easy access to the ocean. Interesting presentations by park rangers. We will keep coming back!

Be prepared for rocks and roots. Relatively flat. Lots of shade in between trees. Very short distance to restrooms through the woods

Nice forested campground within Acadia National Park, but like most NP campgrounds, it is very bare-bones: no showers, hot water or even soap in the bathrooms. We came during peak season and got one of the last spots available. While the sites all seem reasonably private, the campground itself felt noisy with a constantly barking dog, a car alarm that went off throughout the night and multiple cars starting and doors closing very early in the morning (probably to get to a sunrise hike).

A086, Loop A-- right by the bathroom but campsite was clean. Bathrooms, trash receptacles clean. Showers are located across the street and easily accessible. Trail heads are accessible from the camp site. Will certainly be back!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
