Beautiful campground, it's very tucked into the forest and it doesn't feel like you're on top of other folks! The restroom facilities were decent, slightly less nice than nearby Schoodic, but certainly adequate. The location is very centralized for anyone wanting to explore the main attractions in Acadia.

The park rangers were very nice

Site B52 is not flat enough for a camp van. We were lucky to be reassigned a different site (A33). Staff was very helpful. Great views from the ocean trail from the campground, and better than fighting the crowds on the park loop.

Staff were friendly, helpful and kind. Maintenance staff was awesome in keeping facilities clean. Great spot with coin operated showers near by.

This is an excellent campground (i have been there many times over the course of the years).This year I notice that restrooms were not as clean as the previous times.

We really enjoyed the campgrounds! Our site was right across from the bathrooms. We expected it to be noisy or lacking in privacy, but we hardly had any issues and everyone was very respectful of our space. So nice having a dog friendly campground, and so close to Bar Harbor!

Beautiful scenery. The hikes are very fun! The camping site are not all super intimate, but very clean and the staff was lovely. Thank you!

B083 has a small walking path that connects the sites and it leads to a further toilet. A closer toilet is only 2 min walk. Water is only 1 min walk.One table. The tent side has no tree shades.

Enjoyed my stay at Blackwoods. Clean, potable water available. Great short walk to Otter Cliffs, great for stargazing. The bus didn't come too often (running on its fall schedule at the time of my visit) but I was able to ride the bus around to all the sites with little issue.

Park was nice. We only stayed 2 nights as we prefer to use electric for our AC to keep our dog cool. Location was great for getting to Cadillac Mtn and Bar Harbor.

The campsite was clean and quiet. It had everything we needed with the firepit and picnic table. The bathrooms were quite nice from a fixture standpoint. I do wish there had been soap instead of hand sanitizer. But all in all, a great stay. This campsite was notable relating to dishwashing as it had a place to collect food scraps from dishwater but didn't have a separate dishwashing sink/station/set up like I've seen in other National Park campsites.

Fairly typical campground. If I hadn't also stayed at Seawall I would probably rate this higher, but Seawall is the superior campground, in my opinion. The winding road into Blackwoods is annoyingly long and Seawall is just in a prettier area, otherwise Blackwoods is a fine stay. I do like the firepits here more than Seawall.

LOVED, LOVED this campground! The only reason I gave it a 4 over a 5 is no showers. However, you can grab one right outside the park. It is about a mile walk or 5 min. drive. We camped the last week of August during the week. The campground was 100% full; yet, so quiet! We were in Loop A with only a 5 min. walk to the ocean which was a fantastic way to begin the morning with coffee. Campgrounds are close to each other; yet, you have your own space. If you want complete solitude, go to Schoodic . . .it is quieter and more space between campers. Blackwoods is close to many things so we chose that and the trails and bus system is really great to use right from the campground. Loved Acadia and all the surroundings!

We really enjoyed hiking the trail to the coast straight from the campground!

To be able to stay inside Acadia and walk to the ocean path from the campsite is amazing. The beautiful woods are amazing. Bathrooms are clean and well taken care of. Have stayed before will stay again and again.

Beautiful campground with plenty of space between sites for privacy. It's an easy quick walk to the rocky shoreline for sunrise if desired. There's a path that leads directly to the Mt Cadillac South Ridge Trail so you don't have to drive to the trailhead. And there's a free bus that pick up and drop off every hour right at the campground so you can leave your car behind. It's quiet at night and bathrooms cleaned every day.

My boyfriend, my pup and I had a wonderful stay at blackwoods campground. We return every summer. It has nice amenities and is close to downtown Bar Harbor. We enjoy the walk to the ocean cliffs from the campground and the hike up Cadillac mountain from the campground on South Ridge Trail.

Peaceful. Great site for as much privacy as can be hoped for in a large campground. Close to all. Well cared for sites, bathrooms, trails.
@TimothyM325903 · Camped on Aug 21, 2025 at Campsite #B36
The campsites were clean and clear of debris and the facilities were cleaned daily. However, the rangers or campground volunteers left early in the evening which allowed other campers to be very disruptive throughout most nights. There was loud music and campers partying until late many nights throughout our stay. It would have been nice if rounds were completed after quite hours to avoid this disruptive behavior.

The camp site was absolutely amazing. We spent a beautiful August night in a truly stunning NP.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
