Campground and washrooms were clean and well cared for. Rangers were outstanding.

Blackwoods is okay, but nothing special. It's a fairly noisy area, with a lot of dogs and even--on one night of my stay--a loud gas generator from one of the campers. It seems weird that the park would allow the gas generator specifically. It does quiet down at night, and I had no trouble sleeping until the dogs started barking in the morning. The location is great. There's an hourly bus to/from Bar Harbor and an unmarked stop for other buses along the auto tour loop. The restrooms were clean. There are no showers here, which is a bit frustrating, though there's one just outside the campground. Another challenge was the water spigot: for me there was only one near the restroom, and it was super high pressure and sprayed everywhere. I should also note that the one garbage can in my area filled quickly, so often I had no place to put my trash. If you prioritize a good location in the park, this is a great spot, but for a nice camping experience I'd go elsewhere. I did also go to Seawall, which was a bit better and much quieter. Happy camping!

My campsite was in direct proximity to bathrooms and water. It was also a short walk away from the ocean and very close to any popular destinations in the park, as well as Bar Harbor and Seal Harbor. The site itself was very nice too; it was big enough for a large tent, Subaru Outback, picnic table, and a fire pit, all while maintaining a solid amount of space to walk and put chairs on. The only problem with the site was the lack of cell service, but that was not a big deal. Great site overall
