The campground had well spaced sites, but there was too much smoke from people burning wood (that was wet) in their fire pits to make it easy to breathe. I would recommend coming back to camp closer to quiet time when they usually extinguished them. At the visitor center, learn which roads give you access to the campground since the loop road is one way near the camp. I highly recommend the coast from the Thunder Hole south - walk the trail which parallels the coastline to Otter Cliffs. The carriage roads are great to hike as they are even - so you can look around while hiking. I felt that I saw more of the beauty of the lichens on the rock by walking over what we would have seen if we rented bikes. Don't forget to hike carriage roads south of the park too (bikes are not allowed there) - they are park of the Land and Garden Preserve. The path from the Thuya parking area on the main road up to their visitor center is stunning and well worth the effort.Be prepared for crowds, even after Labor Day!
