We really enjoyed our time at Grant River. The campground was beautiful with the views of the Mississippi River. We rode our bikes into the Potosi Brewery which was very nice. The only drawback was the trains going by, but it wasnt terrible.

The sunsets are fantastic and its a lovely, calm camp ground. The train comes by frequently, even during the night, and is audible for tent campers.

The views of the river are awesome. The ride through the hills surrounding the campsite make for a great day travel for spectacular sights.

Grant River campground is a hidden gem. So beautiful and serene, right on the shores of the Mississippi river. Such a quiet and peaceful campground that you really don't want to ever leave.

Beautiful campground. Been camping here annually for a number of years. Clean and quiet other than the trains. Plan to bring earplugs for best sleeping.

The train noose can be loud, but you get use to it. The Potosi Brewery is a short bike ride away and the beer, food and atmosphere are great. There are some nice but sometimes challenging bike rides.

Clean facility with a great river view! The playground was a huge hit with my kids. They also loved the trains that passed through

Grant River was a nice campground. Staff was friendly, the sites had concrete pads, and there was plenty of space between the campsites. The only drawback was the number of trains that would go by the campground.
@DylanSD33E8CF2 · Camped on Aug 7, 2025 at Campsite #2
We had site 2. No privacy there, but I believe had the best views of the river and sunset.

Very nice camp sites, clean bathrooms and river views. Many loud trains but thats no fault of the campground.

We always enjoy staying at Corps parks. The grounds are kept clean. Restrooms were clean but the toilet tissue has alot to be desired. The inability to fill water tank at a clean water source at a central location is a challenge. Then you have to find a water spigot and potentially block the one lane road while filling. Or being stuck behind someone that is filling. Also, at the dump station, fill in with black top to make it a straight on shot. That curve s just ridiculous. No body wants to do that and then not be straight at the dump. Just do it.

Nice level concrete pads. Lots of shade trees. Great bathrooms, nice showers. Beautiful sunsets and views of the Mississippi right from your camper. Well taken care of COE campground.

A beautiful spot, but literally right next to a train track with trains blowing their horns all night. Many times more than one per hour. Not a great night for sleeping!
@JeffreySFA67B7 · Camped on Jul 6, 2025 at Campsite #43
Trains run very close by pretty much all the time. Other than that, like other COE campgrounds, sites are well spaced and the price is right.

Take the ferry at Cassville and enjoy great ice cream in Guettenburg

On the plus side, beautiful views of the Mississippi from camp, great roads in the area for motorcycles to ride, and extremely reasonably priced. Bathrooms, showers, and grounds were average. On the negative side, trains rumbled through, blowing their horns, probably twenty times a day, including a half dozen times each night. They were loud enough that you couldnt hear each other speaking while they were passing by. Additionally, the barge flies were swarming and covering everything that wasnt moving, but at least they didnt bite and there were no mosquitoes. Despite the bugs and noise, somehow, it was a nice place with nice people so I would recommend staying there.

Saw a ranger once only. This park is neglected compared to previous years.Also not a fan of the upcoming check-in system. Not everyone has a smartphone. The park at DeSoto is much nicer.

Site 28 along the River is excellent. Partially shaded and level parking.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
