I was orginally going to site 11, all the sites on that side had a drop off. Our class c would have bottomed out if we tried to pull into that site. I was able to book us into site 21, which worked out great.

We LOVED Blanding Landing. We were there in October and the flies were horrendous, but I guess it was their season. We were one of 4 RV's there during the week, so it was very quiet. Ann, the campground host was great. She'd come and check on us daily and was very helpful. We invited her to join us around the campfire one night and we had a wonderful visit.The restrooms/showers were very clean. There are water spigots spread around the campground, so you can fill your tanks in different spots around the campground, which was nice. Our 5th is about 36', and some of the turns were a bit tight, so we'd have to go a different direction. Nothing horrible. We were at campsite 14 and it was pretty hard getting into because the "driveway" had a fairly noticeable angle and also low hanging branches. That campsite was not at all level, so it took awhile and we have auto leveling. If your RV is large maybe, choose a different sight. Other reviews mention the train, which does come through frequently all day and night long. We weren't bothered by it, but it might be an issue for some. The topography is gorgeous, being it's in the driftless area. We took some hikes around the area. You are definitely in the boonies. To get there, we drove through Galena and then 13 miles down a pretty desolate road. There are some houses along the way, but it's pretty rural. The drive is beautiful with rolling hills. Trailer brakes were used. lolWe drove to Savanna one day. Spent some time at Poopy's, which is always fun. On the way home we stopped at the Iron Horse which has some amazing motorcycle memorabilia. Spent one day in Galena, which is always fun.

Beautiful area with lots of things to do and see. Campground is very well maintained and the host, Ann, was very helpful and friendly. The trains and signs added to our entertainment, but it might not be for everyone.

The campground was very well maintained. The staff was helpful. The town of Galena is a great place to visit.

Campsite was very nice, clean showers and restrooms also has a boat launch. 10 min from eagle ridge resort! That being said we thought we were in a tent only spot and we had a camper right next to us. Big led lights on, tv going and air conditioner running. Our spot would have had a really nice view of the backwater but the brush was blocking it. Campsite 13. The campsite host was extremely nice and helpful one of the best!

We pulled in with a flat tire on our RV. The Host, Ann was quick to help us by inflating our tire so we could get it off and to our site. After 2 hours, we still couldn't get the tire off so she recruited a fellow camper and a neighbor. They all helped us and were amazing people!! The campground was beautiful and very clean. We will be back!

Other than the mosquitoes it was a decent place to camp.

We visited Blanding Landing during the middle of the week in September and found it quiet and peaceful - mostly. There are nearby freight trains that run several times a day and occasionally at night. However, for us, we found it interesting. We also enjoyed watching the recreational boats come and go from the boat ramp. The campground host was friendly and helpful. Bathroom was clean and Blanding Landing is definitely a place we would return to if we are in the area again.

Site #8 was level. Site was grass and well drained.Campground itself was well maintained and bathrooms clean. Perhaps not as well developed as other Army core of engineers campgrounds, but I would consider it excellent.

Very nice small quiet camp ground.

Very nice little park on the Mississippi. Electric at sites, plenty of central water spigots. Spacious sites. There is a train track near, but not bothersome - in any event, it is unavoidable camping along the Mississippi. Part of its charm.

Kids had so much fun at this location, we added an extra day to our stay.

We reserved site 11 because of shade. Arrived and absolutely no shade at site 11. We called and switched to site 27 with shade.....it,s 98 degrees in the shade. All sites are grass, power, not level and potable water hydrants a long way from sites. All other amenities are new and clean. We wouldn't stay again.

Great location. Bathroom/shower best ever seen. Host very nice. Stayed one nite. Trains went by, but not a problem for us. It was worth noise to be next to river.

Nice quiet campground. Trains are not as bad as we've had in the past. (sites on the outer perimeter are right near the train tracks) Fill up water upon arrival. Lots of grass! Showers were great! There is a nice picnic area by the water, which we really enjoyed! Turtles! Tornado sirens in the area are tested at 12noon on Tuesdays

Ann the host is so nice. Happy retirement! It's definitely off the beaten path but enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Blanding Landing. The bathrooms (with flush toilets, sinks and showers) near the non-electric sites were clean and well-maintained, and conveniently close to our site. Camp host Ann was very hospitable and gave some bubbles and brochures for kid-friendly activities to my young daughters. We didnt try fishing but there were a few campers trying their luck on the dock each day. The trains do roll through from time to time and blow their horn at the nearby crossing but were not an issue for us, although it might be an annoyance for those looking for quiet solitude. We loved our campsite #1 which was enormous, albeit not entirely flat, but adequate. We had to prop up one side of the picnic table to level the surface for our camp stove. Recommended nearby activities include Maquoketa Caves State Park in Iowa and Mississippi Palisades State Park on the Illinois side. Would return if in the area.

Nice place, very clean. Excellent view over the river. Has a boat ramp and nice facilities, no fire wood on sight that I saw but plenty around.

Clean. Very nice campground host. The trains were very close.

As others have stated, the restrooms were clean. I liked this place because it was not crowded. The non-electric sites are not paved but are moderately level. They are all grass. The electric spots are not paved either, but there are some decent spots. They have a dump facility.

As others have also stated, the railroad tracks literally border the property line. Any electric spots on the east side of the property are literally 20’ from the tracks. Unfortunately, the trains blow their horns due to the RR crossing that enters the campground. Trains pass almost hourly, sometimes more. I was ok with it but my wife said never again.

For boondocking in the non-electric along the Mississippi River and clean showers, the $14 a night was worth it. I love that recreation.gov now allows for zero day (same day) bookings. I hate these other sites that require you to reserve no less than 3 days in advance.

Great family campground. Galena to the North and Savanna/Mississippi Palisades to the south. Sunsets over the river looking west are spectacular. The trains are wonderful, very regular traffic of high priority north and south bound double stackers traveling at speed.

Great time. We will miss the camp host when she retires. Please put an outhouse by the dump station so the girls don't have to walk so far.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
