For me it is our annual family reunion, this is the same park my family has attended forever. It's just nice to go to remember all the fun times we had there. The new ones we are creating with our own children.

Clean park, level paved site, nice view of the river.

The only shower and flush toilet was out of order the entire time we were there. 4 days.

Great campground on the river - we found the West loop nicer for our RV. Unfortunately showers and flush toilets were under repair, but the upper facilities werent too far away. We kayaked the channel, which wasnt busy. Overall, we enjoyed our trip. Lots of history to discover in the area too!

Had their only showers and flush toilets closed our entire stay over a week and no notice prior to our coming, or apologies or compensation. Poor management

The bathroom/shower house had a sign that read - Closed Indefinitely- I would not have made that reservation had I know that - Only available restroom was a single toilet outhouse to be used by both men and women with no lights - no hand sanitizer - no hook to hang clothes while changing - Wont be back

Restrooms and showers were out of order the week we were there. Otherwise the stay was good. We would stay here again

We read the reviews prior to arrival and knew we should have our fresh tank full and the black and gray empty. There are only a couple of places to fill you fresh tank with potable water the other hydrants say not safe for drinking. We chose our site based on the location of the restroom shower facility. Unfortunately, the park closed this facility about halfway through our stay due to water and sewer issues. The park itself is great. The section we were in has all asphalt roads with asphalt sites. We were parked right next to a waterway with eagles flying around.

Love this park!

Love the Park but with less rangers younger kids are ruining the park with no parents watching them. They go to the shower house no one watching them.

Love the campground and the area. Lots of space for our big rig. We enjoyed the short drive into De Soto to eat at Pikes Den. Great pizza and broasted chicken.

This is my second time camping at Blackhawk. Enjoyed my last visit so much I just had to bring my sister to camp at my favorite spot! Very well kept park, clean all around, and good facilities for toilets/showers etc. I cannot wait to visit again!

The local bar was very nice. They were going to get grape fruit juice to make a salty dog for me.

I used to think that Blackhawk Park had to be the flagship corps campground but in recent years this facility has steadily deteriorated, mostly in the shower house areas and water quality. The water in the shower house loop is not fit for consumption and is so full of rust type material that it has ruined the showers, commodes and sinks. My wife will not wash her white hair using the shower water because it will immediately turn rust colored. Even with the water not being fit for consumption we witnessed children drinking water from the water fountain on the outside of the shower building! Also in the shower house area the contracted cleaning crew service has slipped steadily. Most of the time there is no hand soap in the bathroom dispensers, and the overall cleanliness of the bathroom is seriously lacking. I have to wonder why a waterline couldnt be run from the dump station (where there is potable water) to the west loop and shower house. Hopefully these issues may be addressed in the near future.

The facility itself was really nice - plenty of space, peaceful, and lots of grassy areas if you have dogs. We drove south out of Lacrosse on Highway 35, and when we reached the access road to Blackhawk, we found it was an impossible right turn (switchback) for our class A. We ended up disconnecting and backing up to maneuver the turn. Make sure to turn wide (into the incoming lane) to make the turn. If arriving from the south and turning left onto the access road, its a piece of cake.

We changed site several times as better sites became available. Havent experienced the pump out yet but the rest of the facilities are decent. Not the best we have seen. This place needs more toilets and more level sites.

The mosquitos were awful after dark. They ate me alive. We were camping with another couple and had a blast with them.

My grandparents had a cabin on the other side of the park by the canal for several years, and I came up there as a child often. It is still my favorite place to be, the electric and tent sites have everything you need, and it's a WONDERFUL park. Being able to watch barges go by, getting out to fish, riding your bikes through the campsites, swimming, pavilions, it's got everything and the prices are very reasonable.

We absolutely love this place. We bought a camper to explore but we keep coming back to this one. Well kept and gorgeous. I gave it a 4 because they dont enforce the leash rule and several times weve had to turn around on walks because of unleashed dogs. Completely unleashed! We witnessed a dog on retractable leash attack two smaller dogs. Weve had dogs on retractable leash lunge at our dogs.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
