Clean site by the water. Good main bathrooms. With pit toilets elsewhere. Would use the campgrounds again.

Your park is lacking in staff. There are no patrols by anyone. Anyone could park anywhere, at any time, and no one would either know or care. A complete lack of security leaving this camper feeling vulnerable. Camp host, if there, offer nothing in the way of assistance or information. If they are there, they are completely disinterested in the operation or there responsibilities. We were campground host for Army Corps facility on Big Winnie is northern MN. We know what is supposed to happen.

when the mississippi doesn't have high water this place is very nice campground. even though the bathrooms get used alot they are pretty clean. if you fish and are lucky they have a nice fish cleaning area and disposal of remains go into a container. i stay at this army corp of engineering campground at least twice a year for sure.

Very quiet park for the amount of people. Some campfire rings are somewhat misplaced. Enjoyed the nearness to the Mississippi River. Fishing was good right off the dock and shore.

We had site 69. Level and spacious. Clean bathrooms. Short walk to a nice river view. Had a nice chat with the ranger. Would stay there again.

Ranger Nick was awesome, made a special trip to move us due to weather and kept us updated. We brought the boat and went out on the Mississippi one day, it is just beautiful. Really enjoyed seeing all of the barges go by the campground. Caught a few fish, one of the cleaning stations was open which worked out great. One day we took a special trip to Prairie Du Chein and went to an awesome Wisconsin Supper Club, Jone's. It was delicious.

Beautiful location! Very nice sites! Everything was really wonderful but public restrooms leave something to be desired. We are planning another trip very soon because we did. Have a great weekend experience.

Area was nice. Plenty of eagles to watch. Take toilet paper to bathrooms. Kinda of a ghetto area you drive through to get there.

We loved the campground! It was peaceful with a breathtaking view from the back of the camper. We visited a couple of wineries. We also visited Horsfall variety stores in Iowa.Some of our group went fishing and we had a fried fish lunch on day! We will definitely be back!

Park is well maintained but some infrastructure improvements could be made. Appears little investment recently.

This was another AMAZING family camping experience! The park Ranger (Nick) became part of our family and shared in making our camping a time to remember. We'll be looking forward to next year!

Love this campground! We have been coming to it for years. What is especially good are the rangers and the other workers there. They keep the place nice and clean. It is quiet at night. We especially enjoy our visits with Nick.

I've enjoyed Blackhawk for decades. It's a favorite of ours. We were on site 55. Easy walk to restroom/shower building. Because of truck problems I could not enjoy the park as much as usual. My problem not yours. Met Bill, the new to me ranger. Very kind gentleman. Was sorry to learn Eric had moved on with the Corp.Not sure how many more years we'll be camping . Getting older and tired.Thank you for years of memories.Len & Gloria Swestka

Im not one to complain, I just roll with the flow. 1) the water spickets that camper can use if needed extra water all around the campgrounds, campers literally had them hooked up into there campers.2) the pit privy on the older side of the campground looked like it hasnt been cleaned in a year, and smelt the same.3) we pull a 35 fifth wheel, when we got there a ranger was outside and said up up there and turn left and its on the right. Wrong! We should have turned right and then left. We ended up where we shouldnt have been with a camper, and had to back all the way out and then found a camp host to get directions.4) the camp site numbers are on the back side of the sites, in small letters, why are they not in the front of the sites so they are easier to see? We were on the older side, Im sure that the newer side was very nice, with flush toilets and showers. I just feel that maybe a little bit of tlc would make a big difference.

I'm really sorry I didn't ask for the name of one of the park rangers. We made a mistake with grilling on the picnic table, and when I reported it and offered to compensate for the damage, the ranger was so understanding and decent in his handling of the situation. He was a younger guy, maybe around age 25 to 35, and was so very helpful and caring about the people who come to enjoy their facilities. There is no doubt, you will be treated very well at this campground. Thank you.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
