This campground is in a great location nestled next to a beautiful cove on Detroit Lake. The sites are, however, packed in so tight there is zero privacy. The parties raged until 2:30am both Friday & Saturday nights. I am all about having fun and I am not that person who only writes bad reviews. That being said, how people can have so much lack of respect for other people, let alone nature, is beyond me. Go rent an Airbnb to party and leave the campgrounds to people who follow the rules and stay quiet after 10pm. And yes, we did report to the camp host, but the 2nd night was just as bad as the first. We will not revisit this campground. If you covet a peaceful camping experience, dont stay at Cove Creek.

We arrived to see that there was someone still in our spot. They had decided to extend their stay by a week by putting a first come first serve request in the slot then leaving for the day to go boating. Im wondering why the camp host didnt catch this and let them know that spot was reservation only and had several different upcoming reservations. We arrived right at 2. Clearly the host doesnt go around to make sure people are cleared out by 1:00 either. We had to quickly find somewhere else to camp. We had been really looking forward to this spot right on the water. We were lucky that the host at Southshore took care of us so kindly and made sure we didnt have to pay twice.

We had a great time camping here! It was very peaceful and quiet. The lake was really pretty and easy to get to. Our campsite was the bestvery open and nice. The bathrooms were clean, which was really good. We had a lot of fun and want to come back again!

My kids stayed in #47. We stayed across the street in #48. There were campers in #55 I believe that were not following the quiet hours rule. Being loud until 2pm and 1pm. They kept a lot of campers around them up most of the night and morning. They were yelling at the people that asked them to quiet down If you want quiet go to a library very disrespectful. The second night the host told my kids to come get him if they were noisy again. They went and woke him up. He told them to keep it down. It stayed that way for about 30 minutes. The camp host never went back to see if they were still noisy. They were. We were told there was nothing they could do. I am so disappointed in our ability to have a good time when everyone was so tired from not getting any sleep. My personal experience I was looking at the reservation board and the camp host dog was not on a leash. He came up to my dog and sniffed him and started a fight with my dog. I was trying to remove my dog from the situation, however her dog was not controllable because he was not on a leash she couldnt get ahold of him. This was our 3rd time staying there and Im not sure we will go back. The hand dryers in the bathrooms do not work either. We are staying at Hoover in two weeks. Hopefully our experience will be better.

It might have been pouring down rain the whole weekend, but the scenery and escape was well worth it!

BEWARE! There was a group camp area that had a loud party with loud music that went on until 1am. No one bothered to shut down the party. Brought my nephew here for the first time, and it was so loud we had to sleep in the car.

Loud and overcrowded with no one there to help

Water access was ok but it is more for boats and paddle boards. People who rented group camping spot felt like certain areas were just for them when it was on the map for everyone. Finally you have to pay for the shower which is a big wow so bring your quarters.

Nice place. Clean.

Showers were definitely not kid friendly unless your little one likes super hot water and sadly theres no way to change the temp of your shower water. Other than that beautiful place, easy access to the water. However a couple trails it felt like you were walking through someones campsite. They didnt seem to mind but for me it just felt weird.

Camp sites were great, just a little smaller than Id like. I also wish they had dedicated trails to the bathrooms instead of having to walk all the way around the other sites to get there.

Our site was not available for us when we arrived. The site had someone else's name listed for the dates we had reserved. The camp host was not available at the site, we were unable to resolve the issue and left. We have asked for a refund and have not received a reply.

Being next to the lake was a game changer. Large campground so there were a lot of people and noise, but luckily we weren't too close to any of the more rowdy groups. Detroit lake is a beautiful spot to set up your chairs and canopy for the day. The water is beautiful and I will be back next year!

Love it, so beautiful, nice friendly host. Only downside was having very loud neighbors with a spot light on us (thankfully after ranger or someone spoke with them the next night was much better) would definitely recommend! Dont forget bug spray!

Location was the best right near water and bathrooms centrally located to go on walks with the dogs

The campground itself and amenities are pretty wonderful. There were clean bathrooms nearby and shower facilities. Bring quarters if you'd like to shower. However, if you have a shower bag you can also use that as well if you forgot quarters. We had a water spout nearby to fill our jugs and a water waste hole. This spot was right next to the beach so it was easy to carry our paddleboards out. Beautiful views and Detroit Lake is vast so there was plenty of space for all swimming activities. The spots themselves were on the small side and very close to each other. I would call it cozy at best. This spot is right next to the walking path to the lake, so there was a lot of traffic. Great place for kids as there were many running around on scooters and on the beach. Would come here again with friends if booking multiple sites next to each other. Camp hosts were great at maintaining the grounds and I saw them often. Only con was the obnoxious family next to ours that blasted music on their speakers that could be heard all the way in the lake (we knew because their friends were on a boat and asked them to turn it down). They didn't really listen and played loud music until late in the night. Other than that, my husband and I had a really great time here.

Wonderful location! Well maintained! Could have a few more showers open but overall a wonderful experience for our family and friends with younger kiddos!

Shhhh this is a hidden gem. The lake was nice this year (not very muddy).

The lake and campground were as beautiful as ever; there was just alot of weird issues going on. Nice to see the lake full and the weather was great. Lovely hike to Stahlman Point.

Nice shady campsite, easy access to the lake, beautiful scenery. Not many bugs at the end of May! Everything was pretty tidy and nice.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
