So nice, a bit more secluded than Detroit lake campground

The only problem we had was the boat dock. People are allowed to use the boat ramp to swim and dive off of. Also using the walkway as an area to sunbath in. You have to be very cautious when launching and bringing your boat back in.

We have visited this campground every year for over 10 years. Honestly the camp hosts this year were quite rude, abrasive, unhelpful and not very welcoming. I will consider looking elsewhere for our next adventure if they are going to continue to be there.

Very clean and nice site, we'll be back in July to enjoy it once again. Any one that doesn't like walking a distance to the bathroom but also hates being on top of them with consistent foot traffic then this site is perfect.

We really like this spot cause it alittle more excluded from other camp sites across the way. But only thing that was a con was hwy 22 is right on the other side of the river and there big semis driving through all night so that kept us awake . And you cant drive in so we were unaware we would have to hike everything up and down a hill. Also we were planning on staying an extra night cause it said first come first serve so we were gonna book an extra night when we got there but then someone else had it reserved the night after us when it said no reservations so that was not something we were happy about. We went to go talk to the host and they were no where to be found .

I may have had a better experience if I had different neighbors. I camp in my travel trailer and the site I had offered the camping area behind the parking area and separate from where I parked my trailer. All the sites were very close together and it felt very tight. In addition, there was no privacy between sites and the people next to me had three dogs, one of which barked constantly day and night. None of the camp hosts ever came to speak with the people about their dog barking nonstop. I have dogs and I expect some barking when camping and dont usually mind. This was ridiculous. I left after one night and forfeited my second night reservation to camp at Detroit Lake Campground, which was actually quieter with better space/privacy between sites. I will not camp at Hoover campground again.

This is a nice location but we have been camping here for over 30 years and it is disappointing to see how little effort is put into maintaining and repairing structures. Also, the only walking trail has fallen trees that block the path for anyone with mobility issues.

Great campground! Clean and well maintained! Clean flushing toilets and designated trash areas with water spouts around the campsites.

Great place! Water was pretty far down but still nice, canopy provided enough shade to survive in the heatwave! Overall a clean, nice place. Bathrooms are good too!

Nice campground. Not quite on the water and sites aren’t too private but nice and a good location.
@DavidP3257927 · Camped on Jul 9, 2023
Great hosts, plenty of firewood, site was level and well maintained, trees nearby were perfect for a hammock setup. Access to the lake including boat launch was very convenient.

We've been camping here every year for 30+ years. It is disappointing to see things in disrepair.

Second time staying here and just as lovely as before. Came during a weekend so was pretty busy but not terrible. Campground host did not seem to care about noise/ generators running past 10 pm even though there are quiet hour signs. Kept the bathrooms as clean as they could be.

Very busy campground due to the lake being right there but even over the July 4th weekend it wasn’t too noisy. The loop we were in wasn’t as busy as the main drag which led to the lake. Some spots were pretty private while others were jammed packed. Outhouses were not terrible.

Spot 1 was tight to get a 28ft fifth wheel in and unlevel enough to require 3 blocks on passenger side to keep wheels from getting off ground when leveled. Which in turn made the bottom step into the camper 2 feet off the ground.

Clean and beautiful camp ground

This site is not lakefront even though it says so in description. Plus if you look on campground map it is on other side of campground road away from the water.
@ShaneL2966506 · Camped on May 26, 2023 at Campsite #10
We loved the site we had, lots of privacy. Access to the lake was great, kids had fun. Campstore nearby which was helpful. Only downside is that there is a lot of road noise, like semi jake brakes all nite. Otherwise it would be perfect.

Camp grounds were nice and clean. Restrooms also were kept up cleaned regularly. Host was friendly as well.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
