The campground is off of the main road enough that we didnt hear any road noise which was awesome. When we got there, someone was mistakenly in our reserved camping spot but the park managers were very kind and solved the problem immediately. The whole campground was very clean, including the facilities. The only issue was that some of the surrounding campers were blasting music late into the night and there didnt seem to be any sort of quiet hours that were enforced. I saw other reviews that stated similar situations. There were also people on the lake that were blasting music on their boats late at night, but that isnt something the park managers would be able to stop anyway. If loud music at late hours is not something you can ignore, you might want to choose a different spot. Otherwise, I highly recommend this spot and Id say it was an overall pleasant camping experience!

We arrived to see that there was someone still in our spot. They had decided to extend their stay by a week by putting a first come first serve request in the slot then leaving for the day to go boating. Im wondering why the camp host didnt catch this and let them know that spot was reservation only and had several different upcoming reservations. We arrived right at 2. Clearly the host doesnt go around to make sure people are cleared out by 1:00 either. We had to quickly find somewhere else to camp. We had been really looking forward to this spot right on the water. We were lucky that the host at Southshore took care of us so kindly and made sure we didnt have to pay twice.
