My favorite camp on Sam Rayburn and it's near good fishing spots. It's very well maintained with friendly park hosts but many campsites, bathrooms and docks are still damaged and closed from Hurricane Beryl. I would like to see this park restored.

Upon arriving at our site, we discovered that the pad was too short for our camper. We drove around the park and found a more suitable site that was unoccupied according to online reservations. We contacted recreation.gov on the phone, and a VERY nice gentleman assisted us on changing our reservation. We were relieved to speak with a human, and couldn't have been more pleased.

I have never said this about a COE park, but avoid this one, booked site 33. When we got there, we found dozens of screws and nails from a previous RV fire. The fire occurred 3 months before. We talked to host, but the app would not let the host nor myself modify the site. The host tried to help moved me to a site they did not use. This site had a broken water handle and power problems when checked with my surge protector. I did contact the office the morning and spoke with a ranger who refunded my money however driving a long way to get and Not letting the host or myself to move us ; is the Govt being greedy SHAME

We enjoyed the peace and quite. Our site was very clean and the park hosts are friendly. I do wish you would put in your rules that people that have a dog must be on a leach and pick up their deposits. I believe leaving a site in good condition for the next campers.

Overall it was a good weekend, However the maintenance of the park is subpar. Lots of tree limbs everywhere. Other than that, a very nice place to go.

The park has not been repaired in a couple years and is not being properly maintained. The maximum number of days policies are not being managed.

Park needs attention. It needs to be cleaned up need boat ramp. We know Sam Rayburn is being depressed currently but the dock needs to be stored for future use. We felt that more signage around the campsites that are closed might help too.

The park was great once I got in through the ramp. I didnt record the code thinking Ill access my confirmation email. But I couldnt due to no strong signal for my phone to log into my account. I had to drive to a location where I could get into my email.

The boat launch and dock have been in disrepair/ closed for a year... although game wardens launch there without issue all the time, double standard? The sign as well. Clear cutting has helped with bugs and stray animals, that's a plus.

Great park

Site 37 had a large tree that had fell and was blocking access to the lake. Couldn't pull the boats up to camp. The corp of engineers knew about this and we even seen the ranger drive through the park. No one fixed this problem. I didn't know this was a problem until I arrived to camp. Bad main breaker shut down whole loop. They also knew about the breaker but didn't fix it. The boat ramp was closed. The corp of engineers blames in on money and resources, but the public knows that is not the truth. Been camping there many years, this is the worst it has ever been. Used to be a really nice place. Whoever makes these decisions on behalf of the corp of engineers needs to do better.

We always have fun at Hanks. However, we are very disappointed in the way that the park looks. There was a lot of work done over the last 2 years, but a storm came and there has been no clean up. There was quite a few limbs and trees down. A lot of the spaces are closed as is the boat ramp. Also the old spaces are in need of a makeover. Do you have a date in which the clean up will begin? A lot of time and money was spent I'm sure, on all the work, but now looks awful and the places that are closed if fixed, would generate more money.

Nice and quiet during the weekdays, sans the random late night trespassing of local teens who skirt the perimeter on ATV's and race up and down the street like a raid. I get it, theyre teens out to have fun and they dont damage anything but what they do is illegal and disrespectful and does pose a potentially disastrous and tragic threat with pedestrians taking a night walk. Another issue I noticed is, again, with teens not observing the no wake zone. Jealousy on my part? Maybe, i didnt bring my boat...and maybe Id like to lose 40 lbs and 40 years and be a teen again. There are pine trees that reach to the heavens, with some being half destroyed by beetles and wood peckers, so pick your spot carefully and consider upcoming weather to avoid falling branches or even, potentially, entire trees. If the review sounds negative, then my plan is working, because honestly I would like to keep this place to myself and watch the eagles that live in the area and enjoy the serenity...except the weekends. I like it and, no doubt, will be back.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
