Concrete pads for campers are all broken off . Many table toppers have been damaged by falling trees. Our particular spot #37 had not been cleaned nor "blown off" when we arrived. We realize that repeated storms and high water have damaged the boat dock and boat launch area. The "SLOW-NO WAKE" signs have been washed away , people are speeding up the boat cuts. Even the Hanks Creek Recreation Area sign was gone. The camp hosts were very helpful. The swimming area was closed so people were swimming in the boat lane behind their camping spot. Hanks Creek is/was a beautiful park. Perhaps the Engineers will develop a plan so that the park does not flood in the future.

Site 37 had a large tree that had fell and was blocking access to the lake. Couldn't pull the boats up to camp. The corp of engineers knew about this and we even seen the ranger drive through the park. No one fixed this problem. I didn't know this was a problem until I arrived to camp. Bad main breaker shut down whole loop. They also knew about the breaker but didn't fix it. The boat ramp was closed. The corp of engineers blames in on money and resources, but the public knows that is not the truth. Been camping there many years, this is the worst it has ever been. Used to be a really nice place. Whoever makes these decisions on behalf of the corp of engineers needs to do better.

We visit Hanks Creek often. This trip we arrived and got unhooked and set up to discover there was no electricity at our site. When I opened the box the inside panel fell out on the ground. I went to the host to report the issue. The host said that site had just been worked on and they thought it was ready. The host moved us to another site and later we met other campers that had booked on the same loop and they had to move also due to the sites not having electricity either. Hanks Creek was severely damaged due to flooding but the COE should have done a better job of making sure the sites that were open had been completely repaired. Very inconvenient to get all set up to find out the site is dead!

We are happy to see the renovations on the sites 21-28-- they are great. Would love to see some improvements to the sites where the pavement has broken off on many. Camp hosts were friendly and helpful.

This is a beautiful secluded campground on Sam Rayburn Lake. We liked our campsite however it was right across the from the screened shelter area that several families were staying and having some kind of a reunion so we had very little privacy. This park has a remodeled area on the south end that was really nice, wished we had stayed in that area instead.

We were very happy to see that repairs/updates were being made to the loop for campsites 21-31, after the rain/storm damage. The floating dock on the camping side was replaced while we were there. The Volunteer Camp Host Group were very efficient and helpful.
We are glad to see that the Corps is finally making some repairs. Hanks Creek Park is a beautiful area, and a favorite of many campers. Please do not close it during the winter months.
Thank you for putting our tax dollars to work, finally!

The only problem I saw was the grass was high in a lot of places.

We love Hanks Creek Park, and have been going there for over 20 years, but we are sad to see the deteriorating condition of the park. No repairs have been made to the picnic table covers which are damaged & leaking, the grills are all rusted out. The asphalt pads have all been damaged by the standing water from 1 year ago this time, and nothing has been done. The pier has been gone & not repaired since last year. Two-thirds of the park is closed, and the bathrooms at the boat ramp are also closed. We noticed many dead trees all over the park which need to be removed. We're hoping for improvements soon!! Please pass this word !

Park seems fairly well maintained, easy access to sites and fishing. I only stayed 1night and didn't use the showers. I'd stay again.

This is a beautiful campground. We have been here several times and love it. Nice place to walk and tucked back in from the open part of the lake and the wind. It is a little tough to fish Sam Rayburn outside of the inlet due to wind. I would highly recommend this campground to others to enjoy. Host very friendly and helpful.

Had a great time. Everything was super clean. Plenty of room at all the campsite. Stayed at site 37. Had water access and we managed to catch a few fish. While there we reserved site 35 for the next month. Gonna be returning many times
